Edo APC Chairman Says Peter Obi Not Welcome in State Without Permission

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Jarret Tenebe, has stirred outrage following a controversial statement directed at Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

In a now-viral video circulating on social media, Tenebe declared that Obi cannot visit Edo State without prior permission, citing what he described as widespread dislike for the former Anambra governor within the state.

“Peter Obi cannot come to Edo State without our permission because of the kind of h@tred that people have for him here, including me,” Tenebe said. “Many of us have h@tred for him. Anybody who tries to stand in our way, we will sm%ke that person out.”

The remarks have drawn sharp reactions online, with many accusing the APC chieftain of inciting political intolerance and threatening democratic values.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Peter Obi nor the Labour Party has officially responded to the statement. There has also been no comment from the APC at the national level regarding Tenebe’s comments.

Femi Fani-Kayode marries 3rd Wife

Nigeria’s former Aviation Minister and prominent political figure, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has taken a third wife.

The ceremony, held recently marked the traditional marriage between FFK and a stunningly beautiful lady called Adaugo who he has dated for over two years.

Adaugo, who is 29 years old, hails from Abia state and runs a thriving interior design business.

She is a devout Pentecostal Christian, a graduate of one of the top private universities in the country and is described by those who know her as a kind, gentle and highly respectful soul that prefers to keeps a low profile and that shies away from publicity.

Fani-Kayode’s first wife, Regina, is a Ghanaian ex-Beauty Queen who lives in Accra where she runs her businesses and is deeply involved in Christian ministry.

She is a strong evangelical Christian and friends say she has immense influence over FFK who never takes a major decision without her.

Together, they share a daughter.

Despite the distance the two have maintained love, mutual respect and a strong bond grounded in spiritual understanding and a shared history.

His second wife, the ex-beauty Queen Precious Chikwendu, with whom he shares four sons, also remains a prominent figure in his life.

Though officially divorced their relationship has evolved into one of rare cordiality.

She reportedly enjoys unrestricted access to their sons and remains warmly embraced within his inner circle.

The arrival of Adaugo into the Fani-Kayode family has been received in good spirits, with sources confirming that the environment around the former Minister is one of peace, mutual respect and emotional maturity.

Insiders say that Fani-Kayode has worked intentionally to ensure harmony among his wives, former and present—a rare but commendable approach that has earned him quiet praise from those who know him well.

Peter Gregory Obi CON, born on July 19, 1961, in Onitsha, Anambra State, is a Nigerian businessman, former governor, and revered statesman whose political journey continues to inspire millions.

A product of Christ the King College and a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Obi also sharpened his business acumen at elite global institutions including Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, and Lagos Business School.

Obi’s rise to political prominence began in 2003 when he contested for Governor of Anambra State under APGA.

Despite an unjust defeat, he fought through the courts and reclaimed his stolen mandate in 2006, setting a historic precedent. Though impeached months later, he was again reinstated by the courts in 2007. When INEC controversially replaced him with another candidate, he returned to court and made history once more as the first Nigerian governor to serve out his full term through judicial victory.

During his tenure (2006–2014), Obi was celebrated for his prudence, transparency, and developmental reforms, especially in education, healthcare, and public finance. He left behind a surplus in state accounts—a rare feat in Nigerian governance.

In 2022, Obi joined the Labour Party and became its presidential candidate in the 2023 election, backed by a passionate youth movement known as the Obidients. Though he did not win, his candidacy reshaped Nigerian politics, proving that integrity and competence still matter.

A man of modesty and quiet strength, Obi has received multiple national and international honors, including The Sun Man of the Year, Bill Gates Foundation Award, and Governor of the Decade. He remains a symbol of hope, accountability, and purposeful leadership in Africa’s largest democracy.

The Kaduna State chapter of the Obidient Movement has announced the cancellation of its planned “Freedom Walk & Fuel Relief Programme” intended to celebrate the 64th birthday of the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The decision, communicated by the Coordinator of the Kaduna State Obidient Movement, Yusuf Danbaki, through an X (formerly Twitter) post by Deputy Coordinator Prof. Danjuma on Saturday, cited the need to prioritise peace and prevent a breakdown of law and order.

Tongue Wag As Nigeria Police Politically Ban Peter Obi’s Birthday Rally In Kaduna, Vow Arrests

The Kaduna State Police Command under orders from above has stopped a planned rally by supporters of the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, scheduled to hold in honour of his birthday in the state.

It warned to take necessary legal action against any individual or group found violating this directive.

The Command said that intelligence information at its disposal revealed that certain criminal elements are planning to infiltrate and hijack the proposed rally, using it as a platform to cause disruption, incite violence, and disturb the prevailing public peace in the state.

In a statement by its Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, on Saturday, the command said that all forms of political rallies and public gatherings of a political nature in Kaduna State remain suspended across the state until the official commencement date of political activities as stipulated by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
