ELDERS FORUM DISTANCE SELF RT. HON. TARKIGHIR's CLAIMS, PASSED VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON GOV. ALIA'S ADMINISTRATION.
The Forum of APC elders from Utyondu Nation comprising of Uvir, Mbadwem and Mbabai council wards has drastically condemned the recent Media outing by Member Representing the people of Makurdi/ Guma at the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Dickson Tarkighir on a National Television channels regarding insecurity in the state which has affected almost all local government areas of the state over decades particularly Guma local government area.
Ordinarily, we wouldn't have commented on his baseless claims going by the fact that it has become part of his character to always attacks Gov. Hyacinth Iormem Alia administration but in order to keep the record straight for records and reference purpose, the issues raised by the parliamentarian appeared obscured judging from the fact that Governor Alia and the council chairmen particularly that of Guma has been very proactive in curbing insecurity in the area.
It was regrettable that he also mentioned that funds have not been released to the CHAIRMEN in the state to assist them fight insecurity which the group noted it is not only malicious but completely misleading and inciting.
They added that Mr Tarkighir does not care to know exactly what the Governor is doing for the people of his constituency.
The APC elders considered it evil, asserted that since the beginning of the crisis, Mr Tarkighir has not visited the affected communities to sympathized with the victims, he only appeared on convoy and hide his shame which they noted to had detached himself from the home front abandoning the people in times of need despite the fact that the massacre were over two hundred lives were killed from the attack.
The Elders also imagined how a sane person would proudly states on a National Television that until the Governor reconcile with stakeholders in Abuja before the killing will end.
It is very unfortunate and despicable.
The Group outburst with dismay stating that how can a son of the area dance on the graves of his innocent brothers and sisters whose lives were cut short in Cold blood at Yelewatta and other parts of the local government area!
The public should note that the Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Hon. Maurice Orwough upon assumption of office to date has organized effective security meetings eight (8) times in which Hon. Tarkighir was at every instance officially invited to attend but refused to attend, a situation which the group viewed as anti-people's representation for selfish interest and not representing the interest of the common people whom he claimed to represents.
The Group has completely disassociated itself from the media attack of Rt. Hon Tarkighir adding that the Governor has been proactive in curbing insecurity with a purchase of over hundred Hilux Van and seven hundred combatant motorcycles amongst others to assist curb insecurity as well as launch of Anyam Nyor and fused Civil Protection Guards into a unified strong security force for effective operations.
They commended the Governor for construction of Daudu - Gbajimba Road that traverses the Utyondo Nation, including Tarkighir's house which he deliberately refused to construct, the development that has significantly help checked insecurity in the communities and the the establishing of a police post at UDEI and deployment of security personnel at flash point among effort.
Going by the unhealthy outings which was targeted at discrediting the good work of the incumbent administration of Gov. Alia, the Utyondu APC Elders forum unanimously distance themselves from the malicious, fictitious, false claims and misinformation by Rt. Hon. Tarkighir and equally passed a vote of no confidence on the parliamentarian who has failed in his responsibilities at the green chamber for his inability to represent interest of the common people and called on him to tender an unreserved apology to the Governor for unguarded utterances, misinformation and mischievous claims adding that, failure to apologies to the governor may triggered them to initiate a recall of the parliamentarian.
In order to demonstrates massive appreciation for the good work of His Excellency, the Utyondu APC Elders forum which comprises critical stakeholders, opinion leaders and elected Counselors unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia and his administration and promised to sustain their unflinching and unwavering support to the administration as well corporate maximally with their Patriotic Son Hon. Maurice Orwough, the Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government council to succeed.
