Study: Nearly 1.2bn People Living with Mental Disorders, Cases Up 95% Since 1990

A recent study published in The Lancet found that the global mental health burden rose by 95.5% since 1990, with over 1 billion people worldwide living with mental disorders in 2023.

Researchers from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation analyzed data from the 2023 Global Burden of Disease study across 204 countries, multiple age groups, sexes, and 21 regions from 1990 to 2023.

The disorders studied included depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anorexia nervosa, schizophrenia, bulimia nervosa, dysthymia, conduct disorder, and developmental intellectual disability.

Most people drove past this bridge every day without noticing him.

While others saw concrete, one man saw shelter.
While others complained about what they lacked, he used the little space life gave him and made it work.

No matter how hard life gets, humans will always find a way to survive. That’s the crazy thing about resilience.

Sometimes motivation isn’t about having everything you want. Sometimes it’s about making the best out of the little you have until life changes.

Never look down on anybody struggling today. Life can change for better… and it can also humble anybody overnight.
