The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has warned that parts of the North East will experience a blackout from June 10 to June 14 as crews erect new 330kV towers at the Bauchi substation. Electricity customers in Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, Yobe, Bauchi, and Gombe are expected to see no or limited power during this period.

Yola DisCo confirmed power loss at Damaturu, Molai, Yola, and Jalingo, while Biu and Maiduguri will run on alternative supply lines. Jos DisCo stated that Gombe and Bauchi will receive reduced power via the 132kV line and Dadin Kowa hydropower plant.

A retired TCN engineer said the region has no backup transmission path, so any fault in the main line forces a full outage. Customers are advised to prepare for the disruption and support efforts to protect power infrastructure.

The body of my beloved wife, Adegwa Anadoo, was transferred from Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) mortuary to NkST Mortuary Anyiin.

I suffered a devastating loss, losing both my wife and baby during the delivery process.

This has been an incredibly difficult time for me. I am deeply grateful to everyone who extended their sympathy to me at BSUTH Makurdi.

Your support and condolences mean a lot to me during this grief.

Rest in Peace my Sweetheart

Only one Survivor in India’s Deadliest Aviation Disaster

In a devastating blow to aviation safety, Air India has confirmed that flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, has crashed, leaving one survivor. The tragic incident occurred shortly after takeoff at 1:38 PM local time, marking the deadliest plane crash in India’s aviation history.

On board were a total of 264 individuals, including 242 passengers, 20 cabin crew, and 2 pilots. The passenger manifest revealed a diverse group comprising:

169 Indian nationals

53 British citizens

7 Portuguese travelers

1 Canadian passenger

Air India has pledged full cooperation with aviation authorities and investigators to determine the cause of this catastrophic event. The airline is offering all necessary assistance in the ongoing inquiry and to the families affected.
