Didier Deschamps Bows Out as France Coach After Historic 14-Year Spell
Didier Deschamps has taken charge of his final match as head coach of the France national team, bringing an end to one of the most successful managerial spells in international football.
The 57-year-old leaves after 185 matches, recording 120 wins, 35 draws and 30 defeats during his 14 years in charge of Les Bleus.
Under Deschamps, France enjoyed a golden era. He guided the team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup title, finished as runners-up at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, won the 2021 UEFA Nations League, secured third place in the 2025 UEFA Nations League, and led France to the UEFA Euro 2016 final.
His reign will be remembered for restoring France to the top of world football and building one of the strongest national teams of his generation.
Deschamps leaves the France job as one of the country’s greatest coaches, ending a remarkable chapter in Les Bleus’ history.
