FACULTY OF SCIENCE PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE ACTING VICE-CHANCELLOR

The Dean, Faculty of Science, Professor David Mrumun Tyona, led his Faculty on a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayangarumun Kenen, to formally congratulate him on his appointment and express their support for his emergence.

Professor Tyona commended the Vice-Chancellor’s proactive leadership style and assured him of the Faculty’s commitment to promoting scientific research, innovation, and quality teaching.

In response, the Acting Vice-Chancellor appreciated the Faculty for the visit and emphasized the central role of science in driving institutional growth, technological advancement, and societal development. He reaffirmed his readiness to collaborate with the Faculty to enhance research capacity and overall academic excellence.

FACULTY OF ARTS CONGRATULATES ACTING VICE-CHANCELLOR ON HIS APPOINTMENT

The Dean, Faculty of Arts, Professor John Agaba and Heads of Departments, paid a congratulatory visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Ayangarumun Kenen.

Professor Agaba commended the new Vice-Chancellor for his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to provide purposeful leadership for the University at this critical time. He highlighted the faculty’s readiness to collaborate with the new administration in sustaining academic excellence, promoting intellectual growth, and advancing programmes that reflect the University’s mandate.

The Dean noted that the Faculty of Arts remains committed to supporting initiatives that foster creativity, scholarship, and cultural development across the institution.

In his remarks, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kenen, warmly appreciated the Faculty of Arts for the thoughtful visit and their goodwill message. PROFESSOR KENEN RECEIVES NUC ACCREDITATION TEAM‎‎

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Professor Emmanuel Ayangarumum Kenen, Friday, 13th November, 2025 received a team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) who arrived the University for the accreditation of Human Physiology programme in the College of Health Sciences.‎‎

The accreditation team was led by Professor Samuel Odu Odeh, a seasoned academic and human physiology expert. The visit marks a significant step in strengthening academic standards and ensuring that the programme meets national the benchmarks for training future health-science professionals.‎‎

Welcoming the delegation, Professor Kenen reaffirmed the university’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research and service. He noted that the institution has continued to invest in infrastructure, equipment and faculty development to enhance the learning experience of its students.‎‎

He further stated “we are pleased to host the NUC team and confident that our Human Physiology programme reflects the high standards expected of a modern university”, this exercise is an important opportunity for us to showcase the progress we have made and to receive valuable feedback that will further improve our offerings.”‎‎

Professor Odeh commended the university’s warm reception and expressed optimism about the collaboration between the NUC and the institution during the evaluation process.‎‎

The accreditation exercise includes facility inspections, curriculum reviews and interactions with faculty members and students.‎‎

PROFESSOR ADEJO OKWORI DELIVERS VALEDICTORY LECTURE ON QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES

It was a moment of reflection and academic celebration as Professor Adejo Okwori yesterday Thursday, 13th November, 2025 delivered his valedictory lecture titled “Exploring the Total Quality Management Approach in Higher Educational Institutions in Nigeria” at Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi.‎‎

The lecture, which drew academics, administrators and students from across the university community, focused on the need to adopt Total Quality Management (TQM) principles in the administration and delivery of higher education in Nigeria. ‎‎

Professor Okwori emphasized that maintaining quality standards in teaching, research and institutional management is essential for Nigerian universities to remain competitive globally.‎‎

Representing the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Ayangarumum Kenen, at the event was the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Priscilla Mwuese Utoo. In her remarks, she commended Professor Okwori for his years of dedicated service and for contributing significantly to the advancement of higher education through his research and leadership.‎‎

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Inaugural Lecture Committee, Professor Philip Bagu, applauded the valedictorian for his outstanding academic journey and his commitment to fostering excellence within the university system. He noted that the lecture was both enlightening and inspiring, underscoring the importance of continuous improvement in institutional governance and educational delivery.‎‎

The valedictory lecture marked the culmination of Professor Okwori’s distinguished academic career, characterized by excellence in teaching, research and mentorship. ‎‎

The Valedictory Lecture was preceded with the Launch of Festschrift in honour of Professor Okwori.‎

NUC ACCREDITATION PANEL VISITS REVEREND FATHER MOSES ORSHIO ADASU UNIVERSITY FOR RADIOGRAPHY AND RADIATION SCIENCE

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Professor Emmanuel Ayangarumun Kenen, today 13th November, 2025 received a team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on an accreditation visit to the Department of Radiography and Radiation Science in the College of Health Sciences.

The panel, led by Professor Charles Ugwoke Eze were warmly received by Professor Kenen, who expressed the University’s readiness and confidence in the accreditation exercise. He noted that the University has made adequate preparations to ensure that the programme meets and exceeds the standards set by the NUC.

In his response, Professor Eze appreciated the University Management for the cordial reception and assured that the panel would conduct the exercise with utmost professionalism, fairness and objectivity. He emphasized that the team’s focus would be on maintaining the NUC’s benchmark standards without compromise.

Those present during the visit included the newly appointed Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Priscilla Mwuese Utoo; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Emmanuel Eriba Otor; Provost, College of Health, Professor Andrea Avershima Ornguze; Registrar, Barnabas Terfa Hemba; University Librarian, Professor Innocent Isa Ekoja; Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Professor Michael Imande; Dean, Basic Clinical Sciences, Professor Joseph Aondowase Orkuma; Dean, Medical Sciences, Professor Stephen Adeniyi and the Head of Department, Radiography and Radiation Science, Dr. Christopher Abeaba Ishikwen.

The accreditation exercise is expected to further strengthen the University’s commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance in line with national and global standards.

Adasu University Receives NUC Accreditation Teams for Three Programmes

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Professor Emmanuel Ayangarumum Kenen, yesterday received three teams from the National Universities Commission (NUC) who arrived at the institution for the accreditation of Medical Laboratory Science, Political Science and Statistics programmes.

Receiving the visiting teams, Professor Kenen expressed the university’s readiness for the accreditation exercise. He assured the NUC representatives of the institution’s full cooperation during the exercise, adding that the university remains committed to upholding the Commission’s standards.

While acknowledging that no institution is without challenges, the Acting Vice-Chancellor maintained that the university is not ashamed of its weaknesses, emphasizing they serve as opportunities for growth and improvement.

Speaking on behalf of the three accreditation teams, Professor Audu Isa appreciated the warm reception accorded them and commended the university management for its efforts toward academic excellence and quality assurance.

The accreditation exercise is part of the NUC’s routine assessment to ensure that academic programmes across Nigerian universities meet required standards in teaching, learning and infrastructure.

In attendance during the visit were members of the university management team, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, as well as staff of the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance.
