Mutual trust is a cornerstone of any close personal relationship. Trust doesn't happen overnight, it develops overtime as your connection with another person deepens.

If you have trust issues, your romantic relationships will be dominated by fear of being betrayed by the other person, fear of being let down, or a fear of feeling vulnerable.

But it's possible to learn to trust others. By working with the right therapist or in a supportive group therapy setting, you can identify the source of your mistrust and explore ways to build a richer more fulfilling relationships

Finding the right person is just the beginning of the journey, not the destination. In order to move from casual dating to a committed, loving relationship, you need to nurture that new connection.
And how do you do that:
1. Invest in it:No relationship will run smoothly without regular attention and the more you invest in each other, the more you'll grow.

2. Communicate openly: Your partner is not a mind reader, so tell them how you feel. When you both feel comfortable expressing your needs, fears and desires, the bond between you will become stronger and deeper.

3. Resolve conflict by fighting fair: Don't fight to win. Fight to keep your relationship together.

4. Be open to change: Be ready to compromise sometimes.

I know the feeling where you feel insufficient.
When you are the only one trying to make things work and all your partner does is sit pretty.
It can be exhausting especially if you have complained and spoken about it all the time.

Most of the time nothing changes.
At this point I advise you to do what that feeling is telling you to do.

Whatever consequences you may be trying to avoid may come back later in a more painful way.

Build yourself.
You deserve good things.
Choose yourself always.

My advice, don't romanticize every little interaction.
Sometimes it's just eye contact
Sometimes it's just kindness
Sometimes it's just a compliment
Not everything means something
And assuming it does will only hurt you.

FIVE TIMES TO CHOOSE SILENCE
✓Be silent when someone is teaching you something new.
✓Be silent when you are about to criticize without a solution.
✓Be silent when your words might add fuel to rumors
✓Be silent when your heart needs time to heal.
✓Be silent if speaking might disrupt a peaceful moment.

Not all relationships are meant to end in romance.
Not every connection is supposed to become something more.
Some relationships are simply meant to remain at the level of admiration, respect and healthy boundaries and that's enough.

when you understand what each relationship in life stands for, you begin to walk in wisdom. You stop forcing people into roles they were never meant to play. You stop trying to substitute one relationship for another.

RED FLAGS
Red flag behaviours can indicate that a relationship is not going to lead to healthy lasting love.
Trust your instincts and pay close attention to how the person makes you feel. If you tend to feel insecure, ashamed or undervalued, it may be time to reconsider the relationship.

common red flags:
-The relationship is alcohol dependent: You only talk, laugh, make love or communicate well when both of you are under the influence of alcohol.

-There's trouble making commitments.
-Non-verbal communication is off: instead of wanting to connect with you, the other person's attention is on other things like phone or TV.

-Jealousy about outside interests like passion, hobby, or even friends.
-Controlling behavior.
-The relationship is exclusively sexual.

There are many other red flags, it is your job to watch out for them and protect yourself.

KEEP THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE
Don't make your search for a relationship the center of your life. Concentrate on activities you enjoy, your career, health and relationships with family and friends. When you focus on keeping yourself happy. It will keep your life balanced and make you a more interesting person when you do meet someone special.

Remember that first impressions aren't always reliable, especially when it comes to Internet dating. It always takes time to get to know a person and you have to experience being with someone in a variety of situations. For example, how well does this person hold up under pressure, when tired or hungry.

Be honest about your own flaws and shortcomings. Everyone has flaws and for a relationship to last, you want someone to love you for the person you are, not the person you'd like to be or the person they think you should be.

Besides what you consider a flaw may actually be something another person finds appealing. By shedding all pretense, you'll encourage the other person to do the same, which leads to an honest, more fulfilling relationship.

LET GO OF UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS ABOUT DATING.
When we start looking for a long-term partner or enter into a romantic relationship, many of us do with a predetermined set of expectations such as how the person should look, and behave, how the relationship should progress and the roles each partner should fulfill.

These expectations may be based on your family history, influence of your peer group, your past experiences or even ideals portrayed in movies and TV shows.

Retaining many of these unrealistic expectations can make any potential partner seem inadequate and any new relationship feel disappointing.
