🚨 Benue Crisis: Ortom Fires Back at Alia – Face Insecurity, Stop Blaming Me!
Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has slammed his successor, Governor Hyacinth Alia, for constantly blaming him for the state’s insecurity and humanitarian crisis. Ortom warned that this "obsession" with his name won’t stop the killings or help displaced families.
🔹 The Clash of Claims:
- Governor Alia recently accused Ortom’s administration of leaving over 4 million IDPs a claim Ortom calls false and misleading.
- Ortom’s camp insists the official figure was 1.5 million, verified by humanitarian agencies and even accepted by Alia’s government.
🔹 Ortom’s Response:
Through his ex-spokesman, Terver Akase, Ortom expressed disappointment, saying:
Instead of tackling insecurity, Alia’s team turns every issue into an attack on me. Even when IDPs protested hunger, his officials were busy at a UK wedding. Where’s the priority?
🔹 The Bigger Issue:
Ortom urged Alia to act on President Tinubu’s security roadmap instead of shifting blame. Excuses won’t protect Benue people. It’s time for leadership.
