NDUME SECURES APC TICKET FOR FIFTH TERM IN SENATE
Veteran lawmaker and former Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, has officially secured the senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for a fifth term in the Nigerian Senate, representing Borno South Senatorial District.
Ndume emerged unopposed during the APC senatorial primary election held in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, where party delegates and stakeholders unanimously affirmed his candidature through an affirmation process.
The development marks another major political milestone for the seasoned politician, who has remained one of the prominent voices from the North-East in the National Assembly. Having served multiple terms in the Senate, Ndume is widely known for his contributions to legislative debates, security matters, humanitarian concerns, and advocacy for the development of Borno State, particularly communities affected by insurgency.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Ndume expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC, delegates, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue representing the interests of the people of Borno South and supporting policies aimed at national development and improved security.
Party stakeholders at the primary election described Ndume’s emergence as a reflection of trust in his leadership, experience, and continued political relevance within the party and the region.
If successfully elected in the 2027 general election, Ndume will be returning to the Senate for a fifth consecutive term, further strengthening his long-standing presence in Nigeria’s legislative chamber.
