40 Women and Youths Empowered Through Vocational Skills Development Training in Niger East Senatorial District

A total of 40 women and youths from across Niger East Senatorial District have successfully concluded a two-day Vocational Skills Development and Empowerment Training, an initiative facilitated by Distinguished Senator Mohammed Sani Musa in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, and Amathias Nigeria Ltd.

The program was designed to equip participants with practical vocational skills, enhance their entrepreneurial capacity, and promote self-reliance, thereby contributing to sustainable economic growth within the district.

At the closing ceremony, each beneficiary received a grant of ₦50,000, a Point of Sale (POS) machine, and a Certificate of Participation. These empowerment tools are intended to serve as both startup support and motivation for participants to put their newly acquired skills into practice, particularly in areas of small-scale trade and financial services.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the opportunity, describing the training and empowerment package as timely, impactful, and life-changing, particularly in addressing unemployment and supporting small business growth.

NIGERIA AT 65: BAGO URGES NIGERIANS TO RENEW THEIR COMMITMENT TO UNITY AND PATRIOTISM.

Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago congratulates all Nigerians as the nation celebrates her 65th independence anniversary.

In a message through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, to mark Nigeria's 65th independence anniversary with the theme "All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation," the farmer governor says Nigeria has made significant strides in its journey of nationhood.

He says 65 years of independence as a nation with cultural diversity is a milestone worthy of celebration and a reflection of unity, strength, resilience, and determination as a people.

The farmer governor notes that Nigeria is a blessed nation with abundant human, natural, and capital resources.

He expresses hope for a better Nigeria as efforts are being intensified by government at all levels to strengthen institutions and bring reforms that would maximise the nation's potential and improve as well as protect the lives of all Nigerians.

The farmer governor commends the nation's founding fathers and others who have made significant contributions to keep the country united.

While acknowledging the challenges bedeviling the nation, farmer governor Umaru Bago urges Nigerians to reflect more on the progress made so far and renew their commitments to patriotism and selflessness, as they are key to a nation's progress.

He says the task of nation-building is a collective one; hence, Nigerians should continue to pray for purposeful leaders at all levels.

The farmer governor reaffirms his support for the Renewed Hope agenda of the federal government, especially in terms of agriculture, infrastructure, health, education, youth and women empowerment, and others.

He further reassures residents of the state that his administration remains committed to actualizing the New Niger agenda that will create several economic opportunities to better their lives and ensure their safety.

"As we celebrate the 65th independence anniversary of our nation, I urge us all to reflect on the progress the nation has made, see our diversity as strength, and make a fresh commitment to be united, patriotic, positive, prayerful, and hopeful that Nigeria will be a better country," he added.

Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago joined other stakeholders at a Breakfast meeting of the United States-Nigeria Council at the Yale Club, New York as part of the sideline events at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The US-Nigeria Council (USNC) is the premier organization dedicated to strengthening commercial and business ties between the United States and Nigeria, drawing equal permanent membership from both countries.

The Council builds and supports long-term business partnerships between US and Nigerian companies that drive innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer, job creation, and economic growth in both economies.

The event was hosted by Mr. Dele Alake, the Hon. Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and (Oil), Mr. Will Steven’s, Deputy Assistant Secretary of United States Bureau of African Affairs, and other speakers.
