SPEAKER ABDULMALIK SARKIN DAJI LEADS DELEGATION TO CONDOLE MILITARY AND BANDITRY VICTIMS IN MARIGA CONSTITUENCY
Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji led a strong delegation comprising representatives and stakeholders from Mariga Local Government, as well as representatives of Distinguished Senator (Dr.) Abubakar Sani Bello, to the army camp in Bangi following the recent tragic incident that claimed the lives of 17 soldiers. The delegation also visited the communities of Kumbashi, Maburya, Kakihum, and GulbinBoka which were recently attacked by bandits.
The Speaker extended his heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Army, describing the incident as a deeply unfortunate one. He noted that the soldiers stationed at Kwanan Dutse had been there for over two years without experiencing an attack of such magnitude. He commended the gallant efforts of the security forces, particularly the timely airstrike intervention that significantly limited civilian casualties. He also assured the military of the full cooperation and support of the people, especially in terms of intelligence sharing and other forms of assistance. Prayers were offered for the souls of the fallen soldiers.
The delegation, under the Speaker’s leadership, visited the affected villages of Kumbashi, Maburya, Kakihum and Gulbin-Boka to sympathize with the residents over the tragic events. In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji praised the Executive Governor of Niger State, Rt. Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago, for his prompt and continued support, especially in the area of security. He also appreciated Senator Abubakar Sani Bello (Abu Lolo) for his swift response, including sending a delegation, food items, and other relief materials to the victims.
Furthermore, the Speaker assured the people of the affected communities of continued representation and support. He emphasized that they will always stand by them in every situation and will not relent in their efforts to offer assistance within their capacity. He announced a collective financial donation from the delegation to the victims, acknowledging that while it cannot replace lost lives or destroyed property, it is a gesture of solidarity and compassion.
Among the local government representatives present were the State APC Chairman, Hon. Aminu Musa Bobi; Special Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Kabiru Abbas; and Chairman of Mariga Local Government, Hon. Abbas Kasuwan Garba, all of whom also gave their remarks.
The communities of Kumbashi, Maburya, Kakihum and Gulbin-Boka expressed deep appreciation for the speaker's visit and the solidarity shown by the delegation. They commended Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji for his consistent presence during difficult times and for always standing by his people. The visit not only brought comfort to the grieving but also reinforced the strong bond between the people and their leadership in the face of adversity.
