THE THEORY OF NATIONS
They say the United States only wants Venezuela’s oil. But here is the part of the story they never explain.
Venezuela possesses the largest proven oil reserves in the world, yet its people are trapped in poverty and deprivation. Instead of prosperity, the country suffered production collapse, institutional decay, and rotting infrastructure. This paradox did not happen by accident.
For over 25 years, China, Russia, Iran, and Cuba systematically drained Venezuela dry. These countries siphoned Venezuelan oil through oil-for-debt arrangements, asset seizures, and political protection of an authoritarian regime.
China alone locked Venezuela into tens of billions of dollars in oil-backed loans that generated little or no real benefit for ordinary Venezuelans. Russia and Iran kept the Maduro regime alive through military, financial, and strategic backing. Cuba embedded its security and intelligence apparatus deep within Venezuela’s state institutions in exchange for subsidized oil.
As a result, over eight million Venezuelans were forced to flee their homeland. The oil wealth did not disappear, it was captured by corrupt elites and foreign patrons, while the people were left with hunger and despair.
Anti-American slogans are easy.
Facing the Facts is not.
