“O my Lord, the radiance of Your Essence has dawned, extinguishing the stars of creation. The brilliance of Your Attributes has shone, unveiling the utter dependence of all things brought into being. In every movement and stillness, Your Beautiful Names are manifest, for every matter belongs to You alone.

All praise is Yours, for all that has been and all that shall be. When You will a thing, You need only say, “Be,” and it comes into existence. O Absolute Truth, Source of every truth! O Eternal Light, Goal of all light! Grant me from Your Light a beam that will drive away the darkness barring entry, and remove the veils and obstacles that hinder arrival at Your Presence.

My Lord, my strength has failed, my paths have vanished, my means are cut off, and every door before me is closed. I have no refuge but in You; no escape from You except to You. O Rescuer of the distressed, O Hearer of the desperate, O Defender of the oppressed!

I seek protection in You from the whispers of devils, from the tyranny of rulers, from the foolishness of the ignorant, and from the chaos and confusion of the misguided. O Lord of the heavens and the earth, I take refuge in You.”
