FAKHRUL-HULAMAH of Oyo State — Pride of the Scholars
Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim.
To the people of understanding, to the seekers of truth, and to all who value knowledge over noise:
There are men whom Allah adorns with two garments that never fade: _dignity_ and _humanity_. When you find both stitched together in one soul, know that you have found a true _wali_. In Ogbomoso, and especially within Zumuratulmumin, that name is Fodeelatul-Sheikh Abdullah bn Muh Jamiu Akorede Federal — Fakhrul-Hulamah of Oyo State.
A pure man of God
Purity is not just in his _wudu_, it is in his intention. His heart has not been stained by the ink of riya nor the dust of dunya. He fears Allah in secret the way he fears Him in public. When he stands to preach, it is not to fill a hall, it is to fill hearts. He does not trade the truth for a handshake, nor sell the Deen for a seat at the table of the powerful. _“Inna akramakum ‘indallahi atqakum”_ — and piety is the crown he wears daily.
A mountain of knowledge*
To call him “one of the biggest clerics” in Ogbomoso is to speak fact, not flattery. His knowledge is not a shallow stream you can cross with one step. It is an ocean. Deep in _fiqh_, firm in _aqidah_, fluent in _tafseer_, and skilled in _nahw_. He does not speak from his head alone; he speaks from books, from chains of transmission, from the understanding of the _Salaf_.
As a *tutor*, he is patient like a farmer. He knows every seed does not sprout at the same time. He repeats until the dull mind becomes sharp, and he corrects without breaking the student’s spirit.
As a *teacher*, his class is a workshop where ignorance is dismantled and character is rebuilt.
As a *preacher*, his _khutbah_ is a mirror. He holds it up and society sees its wrinkles. Yet he does it with _hikmah_ — wisdom that heals, not wounds that scatter.
Man of dignity and humanity*
Dignity sits on him like a _rida_ that never slips. He does not chase titles, yet titles chase him — Fakhrul-Hulamah, Pride of Scholars. He walks into gatherings and the room adjusts, not because he demands it, but because _nur_ demands respect.
But dignity without humanity is a cold statue. Sheikh Abdullah is warm. He is the scholar you can meet after _Isha_ with a problem about your marriage, your debt, your child, and he will listen as if you are his only appointment. He gives counsel without contempt, help without headlines. In Zumuratulmumin, the poor know his door, the orphan knows his hand, and the confused youth knows his ear. That is humanity — to be big in knowledge yet small enough to bend down to lift another.
His footprint in Ogbomoso*
Ogbomoso is blessed to have him. Through him, many _madaris_ found direction. Many young _talabe_ found a path when they were about to be lost to the streets. He settled disputes not with the loudness of the mouth, but with the weight of the Qur’an and Sunnah. When two parties are ready to burn the bridge, he becomes the bridge.
Fakhrul-Hulamah of Oyo State — the title fits like a glove. Because when scholars are mentioned in Oyo, his name is not whispered at the end. It is spoken at the beginning. Not because he shouted, but because his work shouted for him.
So we pray: May Allah increase Sheikh Abdullah bn Muh Jamiu Akorede Federal in _ilm_, _amal_, _ikhlas_, and _umr_. May He protect him from _hasad_, from the traps of shaytan, and from the sweetness of fame that destroys sincerity. May Ogbomoso, Zumuratulmumin, and all of Oyo State continue to drink from his well of knowledge until the last of us.
