Life’s pressures are a lot like the seasons; they don’t stay the same all year round. Sometimes it’s a bustling time, like harvest season, when there’s so much to do and the sun is beating down. Other times, things slow down, like in winter, and the world seems to rest. When things are quiet and the pressure isn’t so heavy, that’s your time to get strong. That’s when you can learn new things, gather your tools, mend what’s broken, and build up your strength.
“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” - Psalm 27:14
Because, sure as the sun rises, those busy, demanding times will come again. And if you’ve used the calm moments to prepare, you won’t be caught off guard. You’ll be ready and able to handle whatever comes your way, just like a sturdy old tree weathering any storm.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” - Isaiah 40:31
Pressure is seasonal; you build capacity when it’s at bay, so you can handle it when it comes.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” - Psalm 46:1
May you receive all the grace and strength you need in Jesus name.
