From Mercedes-Benz to Made-in-Nigeria 🇳🇬,The Bold Journey of Nigerian businessman Ajayi Joshua Oluwatobi
Sometimes, greatness begins with discomfort.
Ajayi Joshua Oluwatobi could have stayed at Mercedes-Benz—where he climbed the ranks fast, earned accolades, and enjoyed the prestige of a global brand.
But life had other plans. A recession hit. And instead of playing it safe, he took a risk that most wouldn’t dare
He decided to build an African car brand .While most see Africa as a market for foreign-made cars—Toyota, Hyundai, Honda—Ajayi saw something different, possibility.
That dream became NORD.
Today, Nord Automotive is producing vehicles designed by Africans, for Africans—with the terrain, climate, and everyday realities of the continent in mind.
In a world where "Made in Africa" is still underestimated, Ajayi is proving that we can innovate, manufacture, and lead in industries long dominated by foreign players.
"We want a future where the roads of Africa are lined with African-made cars," he once said.
And he's not just dreaming—he’s building it. One vehicle at a time.
