DR. OTEIKWU AKOGWU ERNEST, A RENOWNED INFECTIOUS DISEASE SPECIALIST WITH VAST PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE FROM ONE OF THE LARGEST TEACHING HOSPITALS IN NORTHERN NIGERIA, HAS EMERGED AS A FRONTLINE ASPIRANT FOR THE OGBADIBO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SEAT UNDER the PLATFORM OF THE NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC).

In a strategic stakeholders’ meeting and high-level consultations across the constituency, the position was reportedly micro-zoned to Ai Agada, Orokam Ward 1 — the home ward of the young, vibrant, compassionate, and visionary aspirant whose growing popularity continues to resonate across Ogbadibo Local Government Area.
Dr. Ernest is widely respected for his humanitarian services and commitment to grassroots development. Over the years, he has organized and sponsored several free medical and surgical outreaches in collaboration with a team of specialist doctors from across the Idoma Nation. These interventions have provided quality healthcare services to thousands of vulnerable people, not only within his immediate community but across the entire Idoma land.
Speaking during an interaction with community stakeholders and supporters, Dr. Ernest passionately appealed to the people to entrust him with the mandate to represent them at the Benue State House of Assembly. According to him, public office should be a platform for service, people-oriented legislation, and sustainable development.
He emphasized his determination to champion affordable healthcare delivery, youth empowerment, quality education, infrastructural development, and policies that will directly improve the living conditions of the people of Ogbadibo and Benue State at large.
“Leadership is about sacrifice, vision, and genuine concern for the welfare of the people. I am stepping forward because I believe our constituency deserves purposeful representation that listens, cares, and delivers tangible results,” he stated.
Political observers and community leaders have continued to describe Dr. Ernest as a bridge-builder, a grassroots mobilizer, and one of the most credible emerging voices in the political landscape of Ogbadibo.

HON. DR. FRED APOCHI REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR GOV. ALIA’S RE-ELECTION

In a bold show of loyalty and political solidarity, Hon. Dr. Fred Apochi, APC House of Representatives Aspirant for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, alongside his team, paid a strategic visit to the Benue State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare where they officially presented campaign materials for both his aspiration and the re-election campaign of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State.

During the meeting held at the commissioner’s office, Hon. Dr. Apochi passionately declared his unalloyed support for the re election of Governor Alia in 2027, praising the governor’s transformational leadership, people oriented policies, and visible developmental achievements across Benue State.
He noted that Governor Alia has continued to restore confidence in governance while laying a solid foundation for progress, peace, and sustainable development in the state.

The Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, who also serves as the Governor’s Lead Points Person in Okpokwu Local Government, warmly appreciated Hon. Dr. Fred Apochi and his team for their loyalty, commitment, and strong support for the continuity of Governor Alia’s administration beyond 2027.
She commended Hon. Dr. Fred Apochi for standing firmly with the governor and for demonstrating dedication toward the unity and progress of the APC in Benue State.

Per Dr Ottah Agbo Yesterday, in my office, I was privileged to be appointed the Patron of National Association of Idoma Students (NAIS), an umbrella association of all Idoma Students world wide.
According to them, after a painstaking search, they unanimously selected me because in their words I have "broken many ceiling glasses" and become the positive topic of discussion on "the lips of every well meaning Idoma person..."

They thanked me, and as well, reminded me of how I rescued Idoma Students from Federal Universities of Jos and Wukari when crises burst in these schools. They also appreciated me for initiating the free SSC/ NECO and JAMB registration for interested Enone youths as well as the award of scholarships to many indigent students in Ado, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo Federal Constituency. NAIS was led to my office by its National President, Comrade Pius Atungwu

I thanked the students profusely for their kind words. I wholeheartedly accepted the nomination. I was excited at their visit not because being a patron is a big deal but the fact that the students considered me worthy of being their patron at a period that I am at the departure lounge of the National Assembly.

I took advantage of their visit to reel out our modest achievements in four years. To my consternation, the students have been following our trajectory so much so, that they reminded me of many other achievements we have recorded, but which I forgot to mention!
I charged them to hold governments and particularly elected officials and appointed public servants in Benue South accountable to the people on whose hands, power lies!

I urged the students to shun drug abuse and join the global war against Narcotic trafficking and consumption of dangerous drugs. I also assured them of my readiness to mentor them as requested. Surely, my nomination as NAIS patron will spur me to do more for my people through my foundation: the Enayi Ottah Foundation even as I exit the hollowed Green Chamber on June 13!

All is set for the distribution of palliative and cash to the victims of the recent attacks in Agatu, Apa and Otukpo LGAs of Benue State.

Member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on Narcotics Drugs, Dr Francis Ottah Agbo , through his NGO, Enayi Ottah Foundation would be visiting the IDPs in the 3 LGAs today with food items, motorcycles and cash, to cushion the effect of the pains of the people.
