Echara/Isiagu ward a fertile ground for PDP.
The local government campaign movement of people's Democratic party was directed towards Echara/ Isiagu ward on 14th September, 2024 which started when Hon. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze and the campaign team paid a courtesy visit to the HRH Igwe Hycient I. Eze, Eze chukwudelu 11 of Ibagwa Aka acient kingdom.
HRH Igwe Dr. H. I. Eze, the cabinet members, the town union President, Dr. Patrick Onah, and other dignitaries from were in high spirit as they welcomed the PDP's candidate for the forthcoming chairmanship election slated on Saturday 21st, September 2024, his deputy, Princess, Lolo Chinwendu Ogbonna and the campaign team at the Royal palace.
HRH Igwe Dr. H. I. Eze showered Royal blessings on the PDP and her candidate, presented Ofor to the flag bearer and told him that the Royal house, and the entire community is reposing thier confidence in him that he has what it takes to govern Igbo Eze south effectively. He also praised Barr. Peter Ndubuisi mbah for his outstanding achievements within the short time that he has govern the state.
The party's flag bearer responded appreciating HRH Dr. H. I. Eze for warm reception, Royal blessings, the ofor that he gave him, and assured him of his commitment to serve Igbo Eze South, key into the governor's innovative agenda as he works keenly for sustainable developments.
While still on the visit, Hon. Emeka Ajogwu, the commissioner for Special duties thanked HRH Igwe Dr. H. I. Eze for the Royal blessings, and the ofor that was presented to the Party's candidate noting that it strongly show's his endorsement of the party and her candidate. He also appreciated him for acknowledging the good leadership of Barr. Peter Ndubuisi mbah, the governor of Enugu State which is serving as the inspiration and benchmark for the Party's campaign. He also assured him that the party and her candidate will not fail the good people of Igbo Eze South as they are committed to serving the Masses.
The campaign team left the Royal palace to Nkwo Market where the flag bearer met, discussed, with to ascertain thier challenges and assured them of improving thier trade conditions, access to funds, and upgrading the market facilities.
The campaign activities we're later directed to the rally ground at Umuela in Echara, where ernomous crowd were waiting for Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze and his campaign team. His presence was greeted with music, dance, shouts of praises as the crowd was overwhelmed with joy.
Noteable Party leaders there were present from the ward are Hon. Erochukwu Ugwueze, the former member representing Igbo Eze South/Nsukka state constituency, formerly an SPA to the Governor, Hon. Okey Ukwueze, the former Secretary to the local government, Hon. Obiora Aleke the sole administrator of Igbo Eze West development center, Prince Dr Eze Johnson, the traditional prime minister of Ibagwa Aka acient kingdom, Hon. Same Dimma, the Secretary Ibagwa Aka town Union and others.
Hon. Erochukwu Ugwueze and other stakeholders welcomed the flag bearer, his deputy and the campaign team in thier ward.
Hon. Okechukwu Ukwueze informed them of the diversity and multi-ethnicity nature of Echara/ Isiagu ward which made the ward a special ward. He made them understand that the ward has settlers like Hausa, Fulani, Tiv, Idoma, Igala, Yoruba, Ijaw and other ethnicities.
Hon. Erochukwu Ugwueze a key political figure from Echara/Isiagu ward, assured the party that the ward will deliver one hundred percent votes to the party because a lot of work has been done in ward and there is a general acceptance of the party in the ward as the opposition is collapsing thier structure for the party.
After his speech, Hon. Stanley Ejiofor Abugu a noteable All Progressives Congress stalwart publicly and officially denounced his membership of All Progressive Congress and his defection to PDP citing strong candidacy of the party, the governor's innovative agenda, and his stride to make Enugu State a better state. His defection is a big boost to the party as he command a significant followership in All Progressive Congress.
In response, key members of the campaign team which include Hon. Dominic Ezema, Hon. Ejike Amedu, Hon. Emeka Ajogwu and others encouraged the ward to always stand with the Party as PDP led government in the state is committed to Educational reforms, infrastructural development, and his innovative agenda. They assured the electorates that PDP is committed to addressing their community needs.
The vice chairmanship candidate, Princess, Lolo Chinwendu Ogbonna (Authority) the immediate chairlady of Igbo Eze South People's Democratic party, who hails from the ward. She Thanked the stakeholders, Party leaders, elders, women, youths for their ernomous support. He stressed on inclusive governance, and women's participation in governance and pledged support for under represented groups and communities.
The party's flag bearer, Hon. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze thanked the stakeholders, ward leaders, elders, women and youths for thier role in the growth of the party in the ward. He assured them of his commitment to youth empowerment, infrastructural development, improvement in healthcare, and a government that prioritize the welfare of the masses.
