HOW I MET MY HUSBAND.

It all started in 2023 when he came to my place of work to see someone (let's call the person Mr A).
When he left, I told Mr A that I liked his brother (in my playful nature). 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

Months later, he (my husband) went to Aba to get an item for Mr A. Mr A was busy so he asked me to attend to him (Mr husband) via Whatsapp video call. Yes, we discussed but it was strictly business.

I then travelled to Mr A's place for a function unknown to me, that's hubby's place.

During the occasion, he requested for food. I gave him my share. Water nko? I bought it for him. After the occasion and everyone has gone except me, I say with him and 2 of his family members discussing "between Imo and Rivers, which is better". 🤣🤣🤣

While discussing, his parents (my now parents) were retiring to their quarters, Oga went and told them that I was his girlfriend soon to be wife from PH. 😳😳😳😳😳😳 How? What? When? Where? Me wey no even know you? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Me wey get serious guy that time? Upeee...

In January 2024, I went to his studio for my birthday shoot (3rd pix).

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL

DATE: SUNDAY JUNE 9 2024

TOPIC: THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

MEMORISE:

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
Proverbs 21:21

READ:
GENESIS 39:6-12

6 And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.

7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.

8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

10 And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.

12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

GENESIS 41:37-44

37 And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

MESSAGE:

Yesterday, I started a discussion on the full armor of God. Today, I will be discussing the breastplate of righteousness. The breastplate of righteousness is the piece of armour that protects your heart. To be righteous is to always do the right thing according to God's standards, When you are righteous, your heart is protected against the tricks of the devil. The moment you stop being righteous, you expose your heart to all manners of sin in the world, and this is how backsliding starts. The devil is after your heart; this is why Proverbs 4:23 says:

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

The devil wants to turn your heart away from God, so he suggests sin to you every now and then. However, if your breastplate of righteousness is intact, you will not fall. The devil will present something that does not seem really bad to you. I have always said it, if it is not really bad, it is already bad; stay away from it. If you do that which does not really seem bad, you have opened up your heart to accommodate even more sin. Before you realise it, you will start doing things that you said you would never do again; this is how believers backslide.

Is the devil already presenting something that does not seem really bad to you, and you are already making up an excuse for yourself to do it? Desist from that thing immediately; his plan is to get you to remove your breastplate of righteousness so that your heart can become open for his attacks. If a Christian's breastplate is off and the devil attacks his or her heart, it is instant death. Removing every form of carnality from your life is the only way to keep your breastplate of righteousness on.

Your thoughts should dwell on spiritual things (Philippians 4:8). If your mind is drawn to carnal things rather than spiritual things, you are in a dangerous state, but when your mind is drawn to spiritual things, the temptations to be unrighteous will become less effective on you. This is why Romans 8:6 says:

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Beloved, don't let the little things of this world open you up to spiritual death. If something seems bad, stay away because it will only lead to spiritual death.

KEY POINT:

Guard your heart with all diligence.

HYMN 31
YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION

1 Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin;
Each victory will help you some other to win;
Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue;
Look ever to Jesus, He'll carry you through.

Refrain:

Ask the Savior to help you,
Comfort, strengthen and keep you;
He is willing to aid you,
He will carry you through.

2 Shun evil companions, bad language disdain;
God’s name hold in reverence, nor take it in vain;
Be thoughtful and earnest, kindhearted and true;
Look ever to Jesus,
He'll carry you through.

3 To him that o’ercometh,
God giveth a crown;
Through faith we will conquer, though often cast down;
He who is our Saviour, our strength will renew;
Look ever to Jesus,
He'll carry you through.

*1.* O Sunday School, on the Lord's day,
O how I love Thee well,

To rejoice at Thy birth.

*2.* O Sunday School, on the Lord's day,
Thy friendship suits me well,
Both young and old will sing Thy song,
We long for Sunday School.

*3.* O Sunday School, on the Lord's day,
Christ was Thy first teacher,
The Holy Spirit, great teacher,
Does manifest in thee.

This testimony is sure,
That God, the Father Almighty,
Poured His blessing on Thee

*5.* O Sunday School, on the Lord's day,
Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds be black with rain,
I'll be in Sunday School.

*6.* O Sunday School, on the Lord's day

Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?

MEMORY VERSE: "This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief". –1 Timothy 1:15(NKJV)

BIBLE PASSAGE: Acts 9:1-7

[1]Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest

[2]and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

[3]As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.

[4]Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

[5]And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”

[6]So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

[7]And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one.

INTRODUCTION
Paul was born in AD 10 in the Roman city of Tarsus, Cilicia, Asia Minor (now modern Turkey). He was a Pharisee who was proud of his Jewish heritage, as he describes in Philippians 3:5. Persecuting Christians was the natural way for him to show his devotion. He used his Hebrew name, Saul, until sometime after his conversion when he began to preach Christ. Paul later became "the Apostle of the Gentiles" (Romans 11:30). His Roman name, Paul helped him in his trips into the gentile world. He died in AD 67.

LESSON OUTLINES
1. HIS CHARACTER
2. ACHIEVEMENT AND LESSONS FROM HIS LIFE

HIS CHARACTER

Saul (now Paul) was a strong willed persecutor of the church (Acts 8:3; 9:1; 22:4). He had a fiery temperament and always acted on His beliefs; this showed in His sharp separation from Barnabas because of Mark (Acts 15:37-40). After His conversion, Paul channelled His strong will into his apostolic ministry and became the most popular (1 Corinthians 15:9-10) He was an eloquent speaker with great persuasive skills (Acts 26:28). Paul was hardworking: He made tents to earn a living (Act 18:2-3) also charged His followers to be hard-working (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

ACHIEVEMENT AND LESSONS FROM HIS LIFE

*Achievements:*

Paul was highly educated and spoke fluent Hebrew and Koine/common Greek. He studied under Gamaliel (Acts 22:3). He wrote 14 epistles of the New testament. As an Apostle to the Gentiles (Romans 11:13), he made three Great missionary journeys covering the whole of Asia which compromised most of the known ancient world (Acts 19:10). He had access to the third heaven and paradise (2 Corinthians 12:16). He laboured more than other Apostles of his time (1 Corinthians 15:10). He prayed and even sang in tongues more than others in his time (1 Corinthians 14:15, 18). However, he suffered many hardships for the sake of Christ (Acts 9:16; 2 Corinthians 11:24-28).

*Lessons from his life*

One sharp note in the life of Paul is the change from being a persecutor of the church to being a preacher of Christ. This shows that Christ has the power to change anyone - from enemies of God to children of God (Romans 5:10; Galatians 3:26). Like Apostle Paul, we can learn to be content in all things, drawing strength daily from Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:11-13). Also, followers of Christ must be willing to endure hardship for him (Romans 8:17; Philippians 1:29).

CONCLUSION
Like Paul, we should be willing to spend and be spent for the sake of the gospel of Christ.

QUESTION
1. What are the achievement of Apostle Paul?
2. Mention two characters of Apostle Paul.

*DATE: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH, 2023.*

*TOPIC: WHEN GOD PURIFIES II*

*MEMORISE:*
“Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.” – (Daniel 4:37)

*READ: DANIEL 4:23-37 (KJV)*

23 And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:

25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.

27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

*MESSAGE:*

Following yesterday's study, the second kind of fire God uses to purify His children is the fire of affliction. Let us take Job, for example. When you look at Job 30:1, you will be shocked to discover that Job had that little contamination called Pride. After he lost everything, he discovered that God has a way of making a fellow humble by fire. God used the fire of affliction to remove pride from his life.

Some people have asked me why I am always saying 'Yes, Sir' and 'Yes, Ma'am' to everybody. I wasn't like that before. I was one of the proudest persons you could ever meet - even though I was poor, but God taught me a lesson that settled the issue of pride in my life forever. When I got born again, one of the greatest blessings I received from God early on was the ability to hear Him. I was also the interpreter for the General Superintendent of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. One day, for whatever reason, one of the Pastors came to me and asked me to interpret for him during his ministration. I felt offended. "Who does this man think he is? Doesn't he know that I am the General Superintendent's interpreter?" I interpreted quite all right, but I was very upset. After the Service, as I was going to my car, I heard God say clearly, "So you are now too big to interpret for my servant". I stopped hearing from Him and everything became silent. As soon as the devil discovered that I was no longer hearing from God, he tormented me. I prayed, wept and fasted, but God was silent all through. Believe me, honestly, it is better not to have heard from God at all than for Him to stop speaking to you. God will not leave you alone, in Jesus' name.

The period God stopped talking was a terrible time for me. In desperation, I told Him, "Lord, I make a covenant with You: if I am going to offend you tomorrow, take me away today". And then He started to speak to me again. Thus, when you see me saying "Yes, Sir" to the driver or the cleaner, it is because fire burnt pride out of me.

If God is to use you, one way or another, He will have to Purify you because only those pure in heart will see Him on the last day.

*PRAYER POINT:*
Father, if there is any impurity in me that I am refusing to let go easily, please take it away by force, in Jesus' name.

*BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: ROMANS 4-7*

*AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE*

*HYMNAL: HYMN 28 - WHAT CAN WASH AWAY MY STAIN?*

1. What can wash away my stain?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

*REFRAIN:*
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow!
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2. For my pardon this I see;
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my cleansing this my plea:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

3. Nothing can for sin atone,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus:
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

4. This is all my hope and peace:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus:
This is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
