Barrister Damilola Ayinde Marshal, daughter of Fuji legend K1 De Ultimate, has officially declared her intention to contest for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This was made known on the March 17, 2026, through her Instagram page, where she informed her followers of her decision to step into elective politics.

Barr. Dami Marshal, who currently serves as Senior Special Assistant on Tourism, Arts and Culture to the Governor of Lagos State, revealed that she will be contesting to represent Surulere Constituency II under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

In her statement, she wrote that she is ready to serve the people and represent the voice of the youths in the Assembly.

“I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

I am a woman of excellence and results, and I am ready to serve and lead.

For 12 years, I have practiced as a lawyer, and that experience has shaped my understanding of governance, justice, and the real needs of my people.

The traders emphasized that the complex is a federal facility and called for further consultations before any changes to its management structure were implemented.

The protest resulted in the closure of shops across the complex, with hundreds of traders gathering around parks and garages within the market premises as discussions continued.

The ASPANDA Market, one of the largest spare parts markets in Lagos, was among the sections affected by the shutdown.

According to eyewitnesses, traders initiated the protest early in the morning by locking up their shops and stalls to draw attention to their concerns over the proposed changes.

"We are not against development, but we are concerned about the possible levies and taxes that may be introduced if the management structure changes," a trader who identified himself as Emeka Onu stated.
