Singer ChuddyK loses wife to cancer

Nigerian singer Chukwudi Agali, popularly known as Chuddy K’s wife, Racheal is dead.

The singer announced this on his Instagram page on Saturday.

He also revealed that his wife died of cancer.

Chuddy K wrote, “My queen is gone. I can’t believe I am typing this. Never imagined a day like this would come so early.

“You fought hard for your life. You did not die of cancer. God called you cus he loves you more than I do. RIP Racheal my love. 😭😭😭😭”

POS owners are the new big boys in town. A young Nigerian man set up a new POS outlet in Lekki area of Lagos and celebrated the feat on social media.

While showcasing his manager, the entrepreneur noted that POS operators are cashing out while people laugh at them.

Formerly known as Sheraton Hotel now Abuja Continental Hotel

Sheraton Abuja Hotel will henceforth be known as Abuja Continental Hotel, its owners, Capital Hotels Plc, announced the name change in a regulatory filing seen by PREMIUM TIMES on Thursday.

The disclosure marks the first corporate action by Capital Hotels since it was acquired by 22 Hospitality Limited in late September, a deal that sold a controlling stake of 66.1 per cent in the company to the latter. That is equivalent to 2.1 billion ordinary shares.

“The Hotel has also been reopened for operations while renovations are ongoing to bring the Hotel to the standard befitting its status as a Five Star Hotel,” the document said.

Capital Hotels has not reported profit in the past three years.

Capital Hotels set out early in 2022 to raise capital by way of rights issue to renovate the luxury hotel but the proposal was stalled by shareholders’ refusal to endorse the move on the grounds that the pricing of the rights issue would erode their rights.

That forced the board to explore private placement, easing the path for 22 Hospitality to become the new owner.

The 1.6 billion shares allotted to 22 Hospitality following the transaction was valued at N11.3 billion, in addition to share purchases by the new owner from strategic shareholders like Hans Gremlin Nigeria Limited and Associated Ventures International Limited who parted with 456.6 million and 21.6 million shares, respectively.

Bank of Industry Limited, Ministry of Finance Incorporated, Nigeria Re-insurance Corporation and Continental Energy Resources Limited are among the substantial shareholders of Capital Hotels, according to its 2021 audited financial statement.

Actor Mr Ibu debunks wife’s allegation claiming affairs with adopted daughter

Stella Maris, wife of Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has called him out over alleged domestic violence.

In a viral video, the pair were seen engaging in a heated face-off, with the actor yelling at Maris.

“Don’t let me get angry with you, do you hear me? Tell me what I want to hear right now. Stay there, are you mad?” the actor said.

Maris was heard in the video pleading with the film star. She also asked who Chioma Jasmine was to him.

In another clip, Maris claimed Mr Ibu was dating Jasmine who she described as his “girlfriend”. She also accused the actor of neglecting her and their children.

Reacting to this, Mr Ibu, has said that Jasmine Okafor is his adopted daughter.

He clarified this along with his second son, Daniel, in an Instagram live session with a media personality, Daddy Freeze, on Friday night.

Debunking the claim, Mr Ibu said that Stella is his second wife, and that she is aware that Jasmine is his adopted daughter before he married her.

Speaking on behalf of his father during the live session, Daniel said, “She is his 100 percent his daughter, not biological but adopted right from childhood.

”The actor went on to say that he has been taking care of his wife and children, and that he has even bought her cars, which she has sold without giving him a dime.

His son also stated that Jasmine took care of their father when Stella refused to stay with him in the hospital and paid N500,000 to retrieve and verify his father’s Instagram account

He said, “She (Jasmine) was in Cyprus then. When she heard the news, she came to Abuja to take care of my dad, paying the bills while he was in the hospital.

"Before, my daddy’s Instagram account was hacked, she was the one that paid N500k to get it. The account was not verified then, and she was the one that got the account verified.

Denying Tinubu’s works in Lagos as governor is plain hatred — Comedian Seyilaw

Nigerian comedian, Oluwaseyitan Aletile has said that denying what the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu did in rebuilding Lagos as a governor is plain hatred

He made this known on his Instagram page on Friday.

Seyilaw wrote, “We can pretend, refuse to accept it, and even deny it, but what Tinubu did to rebuild Lagos after the military era can never be overstated. You can use other metrics I don’t know to judge him, but to deny his works in Lagos as governor and the continuity is plain hatred.

“If I was paid to campaign for ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU, let God judge me. I have always maintained my stance that I will never receive money to campaign for any politician and that I have always kept.”
