PPFN births in Ogbomoso, holds free medical outreach in LAUTECH
The Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), a leading national healthcare provider and a foremost advocate for Sexual and Reproductive health and Rights (SRHR) in Nigeria.
Established in 1958 to address pressing issues such as unwanted pregnancies, child abandonment, and unsafe abortions, PPFN has since broadened its focus to include adolescent reproductive health, the HIV/AIDS response, and humanitarian interventions in times of natural disasters and conflicts.
It is an accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), a global network with a presence in over 200 countries.
Southwest Regional Coordinator of the body,Abimbola F. A, in a statement said PPFN in line with its mission to provide accessible and quality SRHR services, is expanding its reach to Ogbomosho and has already established partnerships with five cluster facilities within the city.
As part of this initiative, "we are organizing a free medical outreach for residents of the LAUTECH community and its environment. Services to be offered include:
Cervical Cancer Screening: Early detection and prevention services for women.
Breast Cancer Screening: Clinical breast examinations and sensitization on breast self-examination techniques.
Family Planning Services: Counseling, education, and provision of contraceptives to promote informed reproductive choices.
