🚨 Another Robbery at LAUTECH – Students Live in Fear, Authorities Still Silent

Last night, armed men struck again—this time at Jokodolu in the Aroje area near LAUTECH.
The hostel was attacked, the security personnel injured, and students harmed. Valuables were stolen.

This isn’t an isolated incident. Students at LAUTECH are enduring a disturbing wave of repeated robberies, yet official responses remain minimal. Safety can no longer be taken for granted in student hostels.

How many more attacks will it take for real action to be taken?

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ajayi Gideon Oluwasegun, a 400-level student in the Department of Cyber security at LAUTECH.

He was involved in an accident a day before yesterday at the Under G area of LAUTECH, which led to brain damage.

He was quickly rushed Lautech teaching hospital where he was later transferred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where a sum of 1.5 million Naira was required for his treatment.

Friends and family came together to raise funds for his care, but it is with great sadness that we report he passed away yesterday evening.

May his soul rest in peace, and may God grant his parents the strength to cope with this devastating loss.

Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade has been officially appointed as the new Alaafin of Oyo by Governor Seyi Makinde, following thorough consultations and divinations conducted by the Oyomesi, the traditional council of kingmakers in Oyo. His appointment brings an end to the vacancy left by the passing of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III on April 22, 2022, and is anticipated to restore stability and unity to the historic Oyo town

Hailing from the royal Owoade-Agunloye family of Oyo, Prince Owoade is one of the surviving children of Pa Rasaki Ibiyosi Owoade. His appointment is seen as a significant step toward revitalizing the Oyo monarchy and addressing the socio-legal controversies that have persisted since the former Alaafin's demise.

Educational Background

Prince Owoade's academic journey showcases his expertise in mechanical engineering. He attended Baptist High School in Saki for his secondary education and proceeded to The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, where he earned a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. He furthered his education at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, obtaining a Higher National Diploma in the same field.

Additionally, he holds the position of Project Controller at a Canadian government institution.
