PPFN births in Ogbomoso, holds free medical outreach in LAUTECH

The Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), a leading national healthcare provider and a foremost advocate for Sexual and Reproductive health and Rights (SRHR) in Nigeria.

Established in 1958 to address pressing issues such as unwanted pregnancies, child abandonment, and unsafe abortions, PPFN has since broadened its focus to include adolescent reproductive health, the HIV/AIDS response, and humanitarian interventions in times of natural disasters and conflicts.

It is an accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), a global network with a presence in over 200 countries.

Southwest Regional Coordinator of the body,Abimbola F. A, in a statement said PPFN in line with its mission to provide accessible and quality SRHR services, is expanding its reach to Ogbomosho and has already established partnerships with five cluster facilities within the city.

As part of this initiative, "we are organizing a free medical outreach for residents of the LAUTECH community and its environment. Services to be offered include:
Cervical Cancer Screening: Early detection and prevention services for women.
Breast Cancer Screening: Clinical breast examinations and sensitization on breast self-examination techniques.

Family Planning Services: Counseling, education, and provision of contraceptives to promote informed reproductive choices.

Outreach Details:
Date and Time: 18th and 19th November, 2025, 10:00a.m – 4:00p.m
Venue: University Health Centre, LAUTECH, Ogbomosho.

Philanthropist hands over ultra modern bakery to LAUTECH

Renowned business magnate and respected community leader in Ogbomoso, Alhaji Monsur Ejide, has built and handed over an ultra modern bakery to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
At a brief but well attended ceremony this morning, the donor accompanied by dignitaries including Chief Imam, Dr. Taliat Ayilara, among others, said he was more fulfilled helping institutions in Ogbomoso to grow.
He explained that another project in LAUTECH would commence in two weeks.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, said the University will continue to appreciate goodwill and benevolence of individuals.
He urged well to do Nigerians to channel support to institutions as government alone cannot do it.

Postponed LAUTECH Inaugural lecture now holds on Thursday.

Management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has announced that its 69th Inaugural Lecture, which would have taken place on October 16, 2025, will now hold on Thursday November 13, 2025.
To be delivered by Professor Isaac Omoniyi Oladunjoye of the Department of Animal Production and Health, on behalf of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, the title is "Synergy of Global Food Security and Sustainable Monogastric Animals Production: Challenges and Opportunities".

LAUTECH SPECIAL RELEASE ON SUSPENSION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES AT THE LADOKE AKINTOLA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, ISEYIN CAMPUS

The Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology ( LAUTECH), Ogbomoso deeply regret to announce the tragic passing of a 200 Level student of the Department of Agricultural Economics, who was fatally wounded by a hit- and - run driver in Iseyin. This heartbreaking incident has cast a shadow over our University Community, and we extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased.
In light of this grievous loss, and in recognition of the emotional toll it has taken on our students and staff, the University Management has approved a two-week suspension of academic activities at the Iseyin Campus, effective immediately. Consequently, all students in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources are to proceed on a two-week break.
While students will be expected back in their classrooms on Monday, 24th November, 2025 when academic activities resume, officers on essential services who may be required to be on duty will be informed in the usual manner.
We urge all students to remain safe, support one another, and honour the memory of their departed colleague.

🚨 Another Robbery at LAUTECH – Students Live in Fear, Authorities Still Silent

Last night, armed men struck againβ€”this time at Jokodolu in the Aroje area near LAUTECH.
The hostel was attacked, the security personnel injured, and students harmed. Valuables were stolen.

This isn’t an isolated incident. Students at LAUTECH are enduring a disturbing wave of repeated robberies, yet official responses remain minimal. Safety can no longer be taken for granted in student hostels.
