Dough Ingredients:
Flour: 500g
Butter: 200g
Milk flavour (powdered): 1 tbsp
Salt: a pinch
Sugar: 2 tbsp (optional)
Very cold water: 125ml
Procedure:
1. In a clean bowl, mix flour and butter until crumbly/flaky.
2. Add milk flavour, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
3. Add cold water and combine quickly.
4. Transfer to a work surface, knead lightly, wrap the dough in cling film, and refrigerate for a few minutes.
After refrigerating the dough for a few minutes, here’s what happens next:
5. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a medium thickness—not too thin so it doesn’t tear.
6. Cut into rectangles (size depends on how big you want each fish roll).
7. Add filling: Place a spoonful of the cooled fish filling in the center or towards one edge of each rectangle.
8. Roll and seal: Roll the dough over the filling and tuck it in like a log. Seal the edges by pinching or pressing with a fork. You can also use a little water or egg wash to help seal.
9. Optional – Egg wash: Brush the top with a beaten egg for a golden finish.
10. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
