Gunmen kill policeman, Pawpaw's brother in Imo

Mbaitoli in Imo State and its environs on Friday afternoon came under heavy attack by gunmen enforcing the five-day sit-at-home order.

The gunmen, who struck at different locations, killed a policeman and Prince Iheme, an elder brother to movie superstar, Osita Iheme aka Pawpaw.

Nigerian singer, D’banj arrested, detained for alleged fraud.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, (ICPC) has arrested and detained Oladapo Oyebanji, populary known as D’banj.

The musician was arrested and detained Tuesday after ICPC operatives closed in on him, forcing him to surrender himself at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

D’banj was said to have snubbed invitations for weeks, claiming to be overseas for concerts each time he was invited to appear for interrogation over fraud allegations.

The singer, is accused of fraudulently diverting funds put in place by the Nigerian government for N-Power project, an empowerment programme set up by the Nigerian government in 2016 to battle youth unemployment and increase social development.

Investigators alleged that D’banj connived with some government officials to introduce ghost beneficiaries into the payroll of the scheme. The stipend paid to those beneficiaries are then paid to accounts that have now allegedly been traced to D'banj.

After the musician failed to show up for interrogation after series of invitations, the ICPC moved to arrest him anywhere in Nigeria and abroad, forcing him to show up at the commission’s office on Tuesday.

On arrival, D’banj was subjected to a prolonged interrogation session after which he was locked up. His plea for administrative bail was rejected by officials who said the singer could not be trusted to attend his trial if released on bail.

Multiple sources said the ICPC might go to court on Wednesday for an extended remand order to enable the agency complete its investigation before charging D'banj to court.

The spokesperson for the ICPC, Azuka Ogugua, could not be reached to talk about this story. She is said to be attending a programme abroad. Being in detention, D'banj also could not be reached for comment

EFCC Arrest 19-Year-old for Alleged £450,000.00 Fraud.

The Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested one Iredia Endurance for alleged fraud.

Endurance, who claimed to be 19-years old was recently arrested by the Commission sequel to a petition by one Chrstine Brown, a British citizen, alleging that the suspect defrauded her of £450,000.

Upon arrest, the suspect confessed he received £250,000.00 from the complainant in Bitcoin, FedEx and gift cards.

On what he did with the money, the suspect averred that they were expanded on cars, gold chains, and landed properties, among others.

Some of the items recovered from the suspect include mobile phones, laptops, sim cards and landed property.

The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Bernard Arnault, the chief executive of luxury brand Louis Vuitton's parent company LVMH, and his family took the 'world richest' title with a personal wealth of $185.4 billion, according to Forbes.

Musk, who has held the top spot on the Forbes list for world's richest since September 2021, now has a net worth of $185.3 billion.

Tesla's shares fell about 4 percent in morning trading on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Chelsea legend and ex-Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi retires from football at 35 after 20 years of professional career.

The former Nigerian international took to Instagram on Tuesday, September 27, to announce his decision to hang up his boots with a lengthy statement.

Mikel kicked off his professional career in 2004 with Norwegian outfit Lyn. Chelsea later scouted him two years later and brought him to their star-studded squad at Stamford Bridge.

During his 11-year stint at west London, he amassed a total of six goals and 13 assists in 372 appearances.

The 35-year-old won two Premier League titles, three FA Cup trophies, the 2007 League Cup, and the 2013 Europa League.

Mikel was also part of the Chelsea side that won the 2012 Champions League trophy.

Obi Mikel left Chelsea in 2017 for Chinese outfit Tianjin TEDA before his return to England for Middlesbrough only two years later. He then moved to Turkey in 2019 where he won the Turkish Cup with Trabzonspor a year later.

Obi Mikel made one final comeback to England in 2020 for Stoke until his departure for Kuwait SC a year later.

The Chelsea hero had been a free agent since last November until his decision to end his career.

Those who advertise their 'piety' by sitting at front rows in churches and mosques are the worst hypocrites. Taking pictures while in 'worship mood' is already enough evidence that you do not know God nor are any close to being spiritual.

The Bible warned us about such individuals.

God is a spirit and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth. Those who post pictures of themselves singing or praying in church have removed every doubt about their real intentions. They are fraudsters.

Churchgoing has become to hypocrites, fraudsters and attention cravers a club going affair. They do not seek God, but seek to deceive the gullible that they are, whom they are not.

This is one of the reasons I feel that God has left most of the Churches and Christ's prophecy that a "time shall come when we would not need to go to the Hills or Jerusalem in order to pray" is already fulfilled.

I don't go to Church, but I believe strongly in God and I believe that the greatest worship I can render to God is from my heart, in my home and through my dealings with my fellow humans.

I am not saying that you shouldn't go to Church or attend mosques if you feel that that's the only or best way you can get close to God, but I am saying that once you begin to think that you need to show off your religiousness, then, you are either a fraudster, an attention craver or one of inferiority complex.

84-year-old man arrested for allegedly defiling 8-year-old girl in Ogun

An 84 years old man Stephen Jack has been arrested by police operatives in Ogun state for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of an eight-year-old girl (name withheld).

A statement released by SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, says the suspect who resides in okun owa area of Ijebu Ode was arrested following a report lodged at Obalende divisional headquarters by the father of the victim, who reported that he discovered that his daughter was bleeding from her private part, and when he asked the little girl of the cause, she informed him that the suspect had defiled her.

''Upon the report, the DPO Obalende division, SP Murphy Salami detailed his detectives to the scene, where the randy old man was apprehended.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the old man is a known pe*****le in the area. The victim has been taken to the General Hospital Ijebu Ode for medical treatment.'' Oyeyemi said

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect to be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for more investigation and possible prosecution.
