Internationally acclaimed artist Tiwa Savage has launched her own music foundation — returning to the place where her own journey began. The Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, in partnership with Berklee College of Music, where she studied music, aims to train 100 emerging music creators in Nigeria. The initiative goes beyond performers, focusing on producers, composers, and behind-the-scenes talent.

People think my family life was a secret. It was not a secret. It was simply private. I grew up watching legends like Peter Edochie and Ramsey Nouah. We never saw their partners every day on our screens. We loved them for their work, not for their family pictures.

I wanted the same kind of shield for my wife and my girls. Fame can twist simple things. A child can go to school and hear a teacher talking about her father from something online. I want my daughter to discover herself first, not to copy me because I act.

So I try to protect them from the bright side of this job. They did not choose this life. I did. They should be free to walk in peace, choose their own dreams and grow at their own gentle pace. My work should never steal their chance at normal living.

TEKNO was once bigger than Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido during his prime.

By 2016, Tekno had already worked with Drake, Swae Lee, and Beyoncé in 2019. But tragedy struck when he lost his voice, leaving him unable to sing for years. During those tough times, he wrote one of Davido’s best songs, which became an instant hit.
When artists like Rema call Tekno a LEGEND, some fans dismiss it as random cap. They don't understand how Tekno made Afrobeats artists like Asake, CKay, Rema, and Omah Lay belive that they could easily become global stars—something that once took icons like D’Banj decades to achieve.

Tekno wrote songs for major artists like Drake and Swae Lee, but his career took a heartbreaking turn. One morning, he woke up to discover his vocal cords damaged. He couldn’t sing, and a dream collaboration with Drake never happened. Still, he was credited on Swae Lee and Drake’s hit, “Won’t Be Late,” as a Producer.

In 2023, Tekno made a huge comeback, after teaming up with Kizz Daniel to release “Buga”—a song that took Kizz Daniel's career by storm.

After every election cycle, we owe Nigerians an honest look at what worked and what must work better. That is how serious democracies behave, and our laws must grow with experience.

Today, I signed the final amendments to the 2022 Electoral Act into law.

These amendments are not about politics. They are about process. They are about closing gaps, strengthening procedures, and providing greater clarity to those who conduct and participate in our elections.

When citizens walk into a polling unit, they must do so with confidence. When results are declared, they must be trusted. That confidence is built deliberately, and not by chance.

I sincerely thank the National Assembly for its cooperation and sense of national responsibility in bringing this process to a successful conclusion. Our responsibility remains to keep improving the system so that the people’s will is expressed clearly, peacefully, and credibly.

The work of strengthening our democracy continues, and we shall not relent.
