DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER BSHA, HON. CYRIL COMMENCES HEALTH CENTER AT EZZA ANWU

The Deputy Majority Leader of Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Cyril Ikong, has commenced the construction of a health care center at Ezza Anwu community in Idelle Council ward of Oju LGA.

The project which aims to serve as a centralized comprehensive pharmaceutical facility to provide patients with a wide range of essential medical services is a direct result of the visionary leadership and commitment of Hon. Cyril Ikong to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in the Constituency.

It is expected that the construction of the healthcare center will be completed within the coming months, marking a crucial milestone in efforts to strengthen healthcare system in Oju II (Uwokwu) State Constituency.

According to Hon. Ikong, this project is geared towards addressing the healthcare needs of his constituents, to ensure they have access to quality and affordable health care. He is confident that the facility will greatly improve the accessibility and delivery of healthcare, benefiting the local community and contributing to the overall well-being of the people.

The flag-off was met with much excitement by Ezza Anwu dwellers. They were particularly overjoyed that Hon. Cyril Ikong remembered their long abandoned community which was often denied dividends of democracy before the time of his intervention. Hence, their traditional leader, Chief Simeon Ovuta, thanked Hon. Ikong immensely for his magnanimity.

Present at the event were APC Chairman of Idelle Council Ward, Mr Abraham Onyike; Hon Isaiah Abah, Dr Thomas Oruhu, Hon. Edo Omenka APC Executive Committee members in Idelle among several other personalities and stakeholders.

A man in Kano went to a foodseller. He had not eaten in 3 days. He begged the seller for food on credit.

The foodseller said no because he already gave food to too many people on credit.

The man sat down beside the foodseller’s shop as he had nowhere else to go.

The foodseller told him he’s very sorry and he would like to help but too many people in the neighbourhood have collected food on credit and his business is sinking.

The man sat there and said nothing.

As time went on, other people came into the shop to buy foodstuff and went out- they noticed the man at the door sitting there sleeping. But nobody bothered.

Until one man came later in the day and asked the foodseller: “who is the man sitting at your door?” “Why is he there?”

Then the foodseller said “oh it’s a man who says he has not eaten for 3 days and he wants to collect food on credit but I could not give him because my business is struggling from all the credit I have already given out”.

Then the other man said: “How much is the food he wants?”

The food seller said “It’s a few cups of garri, rice and beans. Everything may be 2,000 naira”.

The other man said “Alright pack everything he wants and more. I would pay for it. Let him go home to his family and eat”.

The foodseller packed all the food and went outside to tell the man with joy that someone has paid for his food.

He saw the man still sleeping.
He tapped him to wake him up, he didn’t respond. Tapped him again, nothing.

The man had died.
He died sitting and waiting for help.

This happened just few days ago in Badawa, Kano. Some people who live in that area know this story.

The man was dead all along while people were coming in and out of the shop thinking he was sleeping.

He died hopeless. He died helpless. He died a man who his country failed.

If you know anyone in this period who is hungry around you and you can afford a little food or money to give him/her, please do.

Many people are walking the streets with an empty stomach.

OYONGO DIOCESAN Youth Fellowship reject the outcome of election.

The Methodist Church Nigeria Youth Fellowship of OYONGO DIOCESE resident in diaspora have unanimously rejects the election conducted recently saying that, it's unacceptable and executives cannot elect executives.

It will be recalled that, the DIOCESAN Bishop, RT. Revd Benjamin Egbe Acham at the 2024 Synod gave order that the youth should do election immediately.

The election which returns Amb. Uwa Ike Lazarus as president was said to be unaceptable calling for emargency compulsory youth one day assembly and conduct fresh poll.

One of the youth who resident in Abuja, Mr Victor Ida in The DIOCESAN choir group in his word said, "Very wrong of them, is that how their election was conducted secrately? The youth body always conducted their election generally not at the exco level, replacement and review of the house can be done at exco level but this very election you people did is wrong. You people should think of the way to convince the entire youth of the diocese."

Another Youth, Bro Daniel Uche said, "Even during convention, it's not the selected person that do the election, it's the general house that use to nominate persons and the vote for one. I think Bishop hasn't done well on this"

Evang Mr Ogbu Abi in his voice recording condemned the act referring it as appointment pending when the election shall be conducted to avoid going against Bishop Order.

The Youth therefore await the final verdict as the leadership of the youth have not reacted to the issue and all efforts to reach out to the home base executives proves abortive as the time of this report.
