Ejigbo Taskforce Cracks Down on Illegal Waste Dumpers, Arrests Offenders

The Environmental Taskforce of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has taken decisive action against residents engaged in illegal waste dumping in the area.

The taskforce arrested individuals dumping waste around Jakande Estate Gate, Oke Afa, and Idimu Road, Ejigbo.

Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, condemned the act as a threat to public health and a sabotage of the administration's sanitation drive.

He warned that environmental laws will be strictly enforced to maintain a clean and healthy environment.

First-time offenders were fined and directed to undertake two weeks of community service.
They were also compelled to sign undertakings never to reoffend.

Repeat offenders will face prosecution and heavier penalties.

TAT emphasized that sanitation in Ejigbo will not be compromised, stating, "Our people deserve a clean, healthy environment, and this administration will ensure it at all costs."

Chairman's Weekly Engagement: Ejigbo LCDA Boss on Assessment Tour, Strategic Meetings, and Educational Support

The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (T.A.T), has had a productive week filled with activities across various sectors.

Highlights of the Week:

- *Assessment Tour*: The Chairman conducted an on-the-spot assessment tour across the six political wards in Ejigbo to inspect ongoing community needs.

- *Environmental Initiative*: Directed the environmental service department to desilt major drainages to improve sanitation and address environmental challenges.

- *Stakeholders' Meeting*: Convened a meeting with Community Development Committee (CDC), Community Development Associations (CDAs), and Private Sector Partnership (PSP) operators to enhance synergy on waste management and sustainable development.

- *Staff Interactive Session*: Held a meeting with staff members to discuss administrative matters, review departmental performances, and encourage commitment to service delivery.

Educational Support Initiative

The Chairman announced the forthcoming distribution of free GCE forms to support indigent students in the LCDA. Additionally, free tutorial classes will be provided to help beneficiaries prepare for the examination. Details on the distribution schedule and tutorial venues will be communicated later.

Youth Registration in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government

Following the directive of the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, is urging all youths in the area to register using a Google Form.

Purpose of Registration

- *Effective Government Planning*: The registration is essential for effective government planning and policy formulation.

- *Coverage*: The registration covers all stakeholders, including:
- *Members of CDAs*
- *Farmers*
- *NYCN (Nigeria Youth Corps or related youth groups)*
- *Artisans*
- *Persons with Special Needs*
- *Vulnerable Youth*
- *Out-of-school Children*

The Executive Chairman encourages all youths in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government to register using the provided Google Form.
