POLICE THWART DEADLY IED ATTACK IN ZAMFARA STATE

The Zamfara State Police Command has announced that its operatives successfully prevented a planned attack by detecting and neutralizing an Improvised Explosive Device planted along the Kunchin Kalgo axis in Tsafe Local Government Area.

According to a statement by the force, the explosive device was discovered on Friday following credible intelligence gathered through community engagement efforts. Operatives from the Violence Crime Response Unit, in collaboration with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, swiftly responded and neutralized the threat.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the device was strategically planted by suspected bandits with the intention of causing mass casualties among commuters and other road users.

The Command commended residents for providing timely information and assured the public that efforts are underway to track down and prosecute those responsible.
