Did you know that in 1914, a cat named "Unsinkable Sam" survived the sinking of three different ships during World War II? Sam was originally a ship's cat on the German battleship Bismarck. it survived its sinking and was rescued by the British destroyer, HMS Cossack. When the Cossack was torpedoed, Sam survived again and was taken to the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal. Remarkably, when the Ark Royal was sunk, Sam once more survived. It was eventually given a peaceful retirement on land, proving his resilience and earning it's legendary nickname.
