🇳🇬 TINUBU TO NIGERIANS ABROAD: “Your contributions are needed at home!”

Speaking in Japan, President Bola Tinubu urged Nigerians in the diaspora to invest their skills, knowledge, and resources back in Nigeria, insisting the country is “on the rise again.”

But here’s the big question 👇🏽
With rising cost of living, unstable power supply, insecurity, and many still struggling to “survive” at home, should Nigerians abroad really consider coming back now?

🎤 Drop your thoughts:
Is this the right time to return and build?
Or should the government first fix the basics before calling on the diaspora?

PDP IN CHAOS AGAIN!

The cracks inside the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have deepened as Nyesom Wike’s camp bluntly REJECTED zoning talks pushed by Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Douye Diri (Bayelsa).

Wike’s loyalists from Imo, Abia, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers blasted the Lagos “zoning summit” as illegal, divisive, and selfish.

Governor Makinde fired back, saying he “won’t go into the gutters with detractors” insisting his Lagos meeting was about uniting the PDP.

Meanwhile, Wike is doubling down, openly declaring:
“I will support those who support Tinubu.”

With the PDP convention coming up in November (Ibadan), Nigerians are asking:

Is PDP tearing itself apart from within?
Has Wike finally crossed over to Tinubu’s camp for good?
Or is this just another power play?

Stay tuned, because the Zamfara PDP Governors’ meeting might just decide the party’s future.

Allies Abandon Atiku as Ex-VP Eyes 2027 Presidency on ADC Ticket

The political atmosphere is heating up ahead of 2027 as reports indicate that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar may be eyeing the ADC ticket after losing support from some of his close allies.

Sources reveal that key political figures within Atiku’s circle are distancing themselves, raising questions about his political strategy and the future of his presidential ambition.

Will Atiku’s move to ADC strengthen his chances, or will this mark the decline of his influence in Nigeria’s political space?

👉 What do you think about Atiku’s possible move to ADC? Could it reshape the 2027 elections?

POLITICIANS WANT A PAY RISE AMID HARDSHIP?

The RMAFC plans to increase salaries for the President, ministers, and other political office holders but Nigerians aren’t having it!

Parties like PDP, NNPP, and ADC, along with groups like ACF and Northern CAN, are calling it insensitive and tone-deaf given soaring inflation and widespread poverty.

What do you think? Should politicians get a pay rise while millions struggle to survive?

Let's here your thoughts👇👇👇

Abuja Contractors Raise Alarm: ₦5.2BN Debt....... Saying “Hunger No Dey Recognise Inherited Contract”

Tension is rising in the FCT as local contractors, under various agencies (Health, Education, Water, RUWASSA), have staged a protest over ₦5.2 billion worth of contracts reportedly executed but still unpaid.

They're Saying:

Some individuals claim they are owed up to ₦270m each on projects finished over two years ago.

They accuse the FCT Administration of dragging its feet while their workers, loans and families suffer.

What the Ministry is Saying:

The FCTA insists no contract under Wike has been left unpaid.

They describe the ₦5.2 billion as an inherited liability from previous administrations, claiming part of it was already settled late 2023/early 2024.

Confusion remains as estimates of the debt have changed from ₦15bn ➝ ₦8bn ➝ now ₦5.2bn, raising questions about record-keeping and approvals.

Do you see this as contractors unfairly blaming Wike for an old mess
or proof that “business as usual” inefficiency is still alive under the Renewed Hope administration?

Let’s hear your take.

Nyesom Wike Hides $2 Million Florida Mansion Under Wife and Childrens’ Names, Documents Expose His Nigerian Judge Wife As U.S. Democrat Member | ABK News

Damning US public records obtained by West Africa Weekly have revealed that Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, secretly acquired a $2 million Florida mansion in March, registering it under the names of his children, Joaquin, Jazmyne, and Jordan, and his wife, Justice Eberechi Wike. Records further show that Justice Wike is a registered member of the U.S. Democratic Party, potentially placing her in violation of Nigeria’s Judicial Code of Conduct.

According to the documents, the Wike family recently obtained the property located on Spring Creek Lane in Winter Springs, Florida.

A West Africa Weekly source who did not wish to be named revealed that theproperty was purchased in a private transaction in March 2025, with Wike deliberately omitting his name from the transaction while using the names of his wife and children, in an attempt to get around questions involving asset disclosure and the source of funds used to purchase the property.

According to public records, the Wike family’s new U.S. residence is a 2-storey mansion built in 1997, sitting on a 4,076-square-foot lot, complete with a garage and two parking spaces. The property is located at 113 Spring Creek Lane, Winter Springs, Florida 32708.

The newly unconvered acquisition raises further questions about the conduct of Wike, who was recently implicated in a $3.6bn FCT land-grab scandal involving his son, Joaquin.

Given that the total annual salary and allowances of a Nigerian cabinet minister officially comes to about N7.8m (roughly $5,000), it is unclear how Wike obtained over $2m to purchase the Florida property, which raises serious concerns surrounding illicit enrichment and money laundering, potentially violating Nigeria’s Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, by funnelling embezzled taxpayer funds into U.S. real estate.

The involvement of his wife, Justice Eberechi Wike, also conflicts with the Code of Conduct for Judicial Officers (Rule 1.2 and 5c), which demands strict adherence to ethical standards for judges, and the avoidance of all impropriety or appearance of impropriety.

Public records further reveal that Justice Eberechi Wike is a card-carrying member of the US Democratic Party, which is expressly forbidden by the Code of Conduct for Judicial Officers (Rule 9.3a) which states, “It is not appropriate for a Judicial Officer to participate in an organization if its objects are political or if its activities are likely to expose the Judge to public controversy.”

It will be recalled U.S. Embassy in Abuja in July published a post on X purporting to criticise Nigerian public officials for wasteful spending of public funds. It remains unclear how the US government which purports to oppose financial corruption by Nigerian public officials could be unaware of potential multimillion dollar real estate money laundering in Florida by a serving Nigerian cabinet minister.

Wike: “Amaechi is the LAST person ADC will give its presidential ticket to”

The 2027 gbas-gbos has already started! 😅
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has fired another heavy shot saying Rotimi Amaechi is the very last person the African Democratic Congress (ADC) would ever consider as a presidential candidate.

According to Wike, Amaechi’s “corrupt past” and “poor leadership record” make him unfit for the ticket, warning ADC not to “embarrass themselves” ahead of 2027.

Politics sweet when drama enter 😅

2027 Political Heat: Wike comes for Amaechi, Babachir… trashes ADC!

The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, is not backing down as he throws heavy shots ahead of the 2027 showdown!

In a new interview, Wike blasted:

Babachir Lawal – accusing him of “disrespecting President Tinubu” simply because he wasn’t picked as VP.

Rotimi Amaechi – labelling him “corrupt” and unfit to fight corruption

ADC coalition – calling it “irrelevant and already rejected by Nigerians” following recent by-elections.

Wike insists President Tinubu is “making progress stabilising the economy, tackling insecurity, and ending bailouts for states/LGAs.”

He also vowed not to allow “injustice” in PDP ahead of the party’s National Convention.

Rivers Countdown Begins: Will Fubara Return Stronger on Sept 18?

Fresh reports this morning (19/08/25) reveal that the camp of suspended Rivers Governor, Sim Fubara, has officially begun the countdown to his expected comeback once the six-month emergency rule expires on September 18, 2025.

According to his media aide, Jerry Omatsogunwa, anticipation among Rivers people is high with many eager to see Governor Sim return and continue the massive infrastructure projects he started before Abuja took over (including the PH Ring Road, Trans-Kalabari Road, and Omoku-Elele project).

Meanwhile, the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), says he’s committed to handing over once his mandate lapses but is racing against time to tidy up projects started during the emergency rule.

Questions now staring us in the face are:

Will Abuja truly restore Fubara to office on Sept 18 without attaching new political “conditions”?

Can he still pick up his stalled projects and political base, after six months on the sidelines?

And most importantly… is Rivers truly ready for his comeback or has the political chessboard changed completely?

Popa Gang what’s your take.... should we expect a triumphant return or a fresh round of power games?

PDP Will Be Unstoppable If United – Ikpeazu

Former Abia Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has fired up PDP members, calling on them to stay loyal and united. Speaking in Umuobiakwa, he stressed:

"Loyalty to the party is the ultimate sacrifice we owe ourselves and the people we serve. Once we remain united, no external force can defeat us!"

He urged leaders to hold regular meetings and resist distractions from “noise makers and naysayers,” reminding everyone that only consistent commitment can keep PDP strong in Abia and beyond.

PDP Vice Chairman of Abia South, Enyinnaya Appolos, also echoed the call for unity and collective action.

PDP’s strength lies in loyalty, unity, and consistency. Together, they are unstoppable.
