We are not in AFUED to find faults, says NUC Resource Verification team member

A member of the National Universities Commission Resource Verification Team (NUCRVT), assigned to carry out resource verification exercise for 61 academic programmes, being planned to be run by the Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Ondo, Prof. Bello Umar, has stated that the team members, were not in the institution to find faults, but to give good recommendations, that would be beneficial to the university when fully operational.

Umar, a Professor of Agricultural Science, Usmanu Danfodiyo University (UDU) Sokoto, Sokoto State, Nigeria, made the statement, while speaking at end of assessment briefing held with top management of the University on Tuesday 26 March 2024 in the institution.

Giving a summary of his observations after visiting the department of Agriculture, and the University demonstration farm, in company of some other members of the NUCRVT, the University don, commended Management of the institution, for the level of preparations made before the commencement of the verification exercise, noting that by the quality of teaching and non-teaching staff and facilities made available during the verification exercise, the institution has shown its readiness to commence full academic activities.

The Agricultural Science Professor, however, emphasized the need for Management of the university, to embark on rehabilitation of some building structures that requires facelift in the institution. In addition, he made a case for provision of additional equipment, to be provided in the agricultural science laboratory, stating that the move would facilitate teaching and learning in the department.

AFUED UK Alumni distributes rice to Adeyemi Varsity Students

The United Kingdom branch of The Adeyemi Federal University of Education formerly called Adeyemi College of Education Ondo Alumni association, has distributed rice to students of the institution.

Speaking at the event, which held at the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) in the University on Friday 1 March 2024, the representative of the donors, Mrs. Adetolaju Temidayo Agnes, stated that the gesture was aimed at supporting the students in the effort at cushioning the current economic situation facing the country.

Responding, the Dean, Division of Student Affairs, AFUED, (Dr) Mrs. Justina Ogboru, while receiving the items, thanked the donors and promised judicious and fair distribution of the rice.

Ogboru used the occasion to appeal to other public spirited individuals, religious bodies, corporate organisations and non-governmental bodies, to emulate the donor by coming to contribute their quota to the development of the University.

Also in his contribution, the President, AFUED Student Union, Okunade Ibrahim, expressed appreciation on behalf of students of the University, noting that the gesture would go a long way in alleviating the plight of the students, in their effort at coping with high cost of food stuff in country.

The high point of the event was the distribution of the 8 bags (50 kilogrammes optimum brand parboiled rice) to the Students.
Beneficiaries of the rice distribution were 20 students each selected from the six schools in the University.

The schools include Vocational and Technical, Education, Languages, Arts and Social Sciences, Science, Early Childhood care and Primary Education.

Others who also received the rice include less priviledged individuals among who were visually impaired students.

New AFUED Students’ Union Executives advised against hooliganism, gangsterism

The newly elected students’ Union executives in Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, have been advised to shun hooliganism and gangsterism, during the period of their tenure in the institution.

The advice was given by the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the University, Dr. Samuel Akintunde, during the inauguration of the members of the Central Executive Council (CEC) and elected representatives of the student body, on Tuesday 27 February, 2024 in the University.

Members of the new students’ Union Executives are the President, Okunade Ibrahim A; Vice President, Akinleye Elizabeth; General Secretary, Ogunjobi Mayowa V; Director of Welfare, Agidi Hannah; Treasurer, Ejike Justine; Director of Social and Culture, Odunlade Mercy D; and Director of Information and Publicity, Omotoso Samuel O.

Others are, Director of Sport and Recreation, Dada Kolawole; Director of Transport, Adedoyin Adeniyi D; Assistant General Secretary, Ayoola Oluwatoyin. I and Deputy Director of Welfare, Idowu Israel S.

Congratulating the newly elected students’ union executives for their victory at the election, the Acting University Administrator, said they were being congratulated “ not only because of their emergence as students representatives but also because they are beneficiaries of the efforts of past students leaders, who worked towards the actualization of University status of our institution”.
He advised the new representatives not to betray the trust the students have in them, but “to lead, advocate, and effect necessary and genuine commitment to their welfare.

Dr. Akintunde reminded them of the role of students’ union, noting that their duties demands diligence, inclusivity and deep understanding of diverse needs and aspirations of the students.

2023/2024 Post UTME Screening for Degree, Direct Entry & NCE Candidates

The College invites the following categories of candidates to obtain its POST UTME screening forms:

i. Degree Programmes: UTME Candidates who scored a minimum of 200 marks

ii. Direct Entry (DE) Programmes: Candidates who possess a minimum of 7 points and at least one (1) Merit Pass in their course of study.

iii. NCE Programme: UTME Candidates who scored a minimum of 100 marks.

Candidates should please note:

a. Candidates referred to above must have chosen Adeyemi College of Education, (ACE) Ondo as their institution of first Choice.

b. Qualified candidates who did not make ACE, Ondo their Institution of first choice and are interested, are expected to change their institution of first choice to Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (Affiliated to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) for the Degree Programme and Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo for the NCE Programme before applying.

Direct Entry candidates are also required to submit the hard copies of their NCE results and transcripts to the Division of Admissions and Academic Board in the College.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
Candidates are to visit portal.aceondo.edu.ng to register for the screening exercise after the payment of non-refundable fee of N2,000.00 via Etranzact or REMITA at any Commercial Bank. You can also pay online using your Debit or Credit card.

Thereafter, candidates will be required to do the following on the College’s portal after payment has been confirmed:

1. Visit portal.aceondo.edu.ng
2. Fill the online form correctly as editing will not be possible once the application form is submitted.
3. Upload clear passport photograph without eye glasses or veil and not more than 50kb which must be JPEG.
4. Upload your SSCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) and NCE results where applicable.
Candidates are to meticulously provide their O’Level/NCE results (where applicable) on the portal. Any candidate that supplies wrong information may be prosecuted by Law Enforcement Agencies and his/her admission would be withdrawn.
5. Ensure that all fields in the form are properly filled
6. Cross-check your entries properly
7. Submit your application form
8. Print-out the post UTME screening slip
9. Candidates whose O’Level Results are not ready should wait until its release before applying
10. Candidates must upload their O’Level on JAMB Central Processing System CAPS.

Candidates considered prima-facie qualified would be contacted in due course.

Candidates are advised to provide active email address (es) and phone number(s) by which they could be contacted.

The College will not take responsibility for failure to get information as a result of invalid email addresses and wrong/non-functional phone numbers.

Deadline for the submission of forms

The deadline for the submission of applicants’ form which should be done online is Wednesday, 31st January, 2024
