OPEN LETTER TO NDDC, USING HON. IFEDAYO ABEGUNDE (ABENA) AND HON. OTITO ATIKASE AS POINT OF CONTACT TO THE LEADERSHIP OF THE BOARD

Request for Inclusion of Ondo State as a CBT Examination Center for NDDC Postgraduate Scholarship

We are elated to articulate our effusive appreciation for the Niger Delta Development Commission's (NDDC) Renew Hope Agenda, particularly the pioneering local scholarship initiative that substantively patronizes and fortifies our venerable country-based universities. However, we deem it pertinent to bring to your attention a pressing concern that necessitates expeditious consideration regarding the Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers for the Postgraduate Scholarship examination.

It would be a considerable boon for our people if a CBT center could be strategically integrated within Ondo State, given the far-reaching transportation implications, paramount safety and security concerns, and the inordinate stress it would occasion our people to travel to Delta, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers states for the examination. In light of the geographical contiguity within geopolitical zones, it is not only judicious but also imperative to have a center in Ondo State, analogous to other regions.

We respectfully entreat you to investigate the vast potentiality of utilizing Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa (OAUSTECH) or Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) CBT facilities as an examination area. This would enable people from Ondo State to access the exam with unprecedented ease, obviating the need for long-distance travel. As the sole Niger Delta state in the Southwest geopolitical zone, having a CBT exam center for this scholarship is not only warranted but also overdue and highly necessary.

If not feasible this year, we sanguinely hope you'll consider rectifying this anomaly in subsequent phases. We firmly believe this would be a seminal step in the right direction, acknowledging Ondo State's distinctive status as the only Niger Delta state in the Southwest.
