COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE PAN-MAHIN LAND LEADERS' SUMMIT HELD AT ASARON HALL, ODE- MAHIN, ILAJE LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ONDO STATE ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 2026

The Pan-Mahin Land Leaders' Summit, held under the chairmanship of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Segun Williams Akinyomi, The Amapetu, Paramount and Prescribed Authority of Mahin Land, and after extensive deliberations on critical social, economic, and political matters affecting the development of the land, affirmed the Kingdom's unalloyed loyalty to His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and to His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State.

The Summit thereafter resolved and adopted as follows:

1. Support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu: That all traditional rulers, Olojas, Chiefs, sons and daughters of Mahin Land embrace and support the policies and Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Tinubu-led administration, particularly the ongoing Lagosโ€“Calabar Coastal Road passing through Ilajeland and other federal projects across the nation.

2. Unity: That sons and daughters of Mahin Land, both at home and in the diaspora, shall prioritize unity as a veritable tool for the development of Mahin Land.

3. Attraction of Development: That all well-meaning sons and daughters of Mahin Land in various spheres of life shall strive to attract government presence and industrial investment to Mahin Land.

4. Development Plan: That a 10-Year Mahin Land Development Master Plan shall be developed and vigorously pursued.

5. Constitution of Committees: That the following committees shall be constituted to ensure accelerated and sustainable development in Mahin Land:
i. Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee
ii. Mahin Land Development Fund Committee
iii. Eba Island Strategic and Steering Committee
iv. Boundary and Land Matters Committee
v. Skills and Professional Database Committee
vi. Investment and Economic Development Committee
vii. Political and Government Engagement Forum for the coordination of political leaders on development priorities

6. Continuity of Summit: That the Pan-Mahin Land Leaders' Summit shall be a continuous engagement to consolidate unity and foster development in Mahin Land.

7. Unity of Traditional Institution: That unity among our Obas, Olojas, Chiefs, and Baales shall be further strengthened.

8. Accountability: That political appointees of Mahin extraction shall henceforth render periodic reports of their activities in office to the Summit.

9. Political Networking: That Mahin politicians shall strategically align with notable and reputable political leaders beyond the shores of Ilajeland to attract political dividends and development to our land.

10. Demand for LCDA: That His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, is urged to create a Local Council Development Area (LCDA) for Mahin Wards. The administration of Ilaje Local Government serves the entire Ilaje people, while Ugbo Wards have been delineated into two LCDAs and currently produce the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government. The creation of an LCDA for Mahin Wards is therefore justified and expedient.

11. Infrastructure: That OSOPADEC is urged to accord priority attention to the speedy and accelerated completion of the Abotoโ€“Atijere Road.

12. Institutional Strengthening: That the Ondo State Government is urged to adequately fund and energize OSOPADEC to enable it to meet its mandate and objectives in a timely manner.

13. Territorial Integrity: That Eba Island in Atijere, being an integral part of Mahinland in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State is non-negotiable. The Ondo State Government is therefore urged to provide the necessary support for its development and security.

The Obas, Olojas, Chiefs, Baales, and Omoojas in attendance unanimously reiterated their commitment to implement these resolutions without further delay.

Osun Election: APC rejects defeat, mulls legal challenge

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has rejected suggestions that Saturdayโ€™s governorship election is over, saying it is reviewing the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before deciding its next move.

The party said it would consult its legal team and consider all constitutional and legal options available to challenge alleged irregularities recorded during the electoral process.
