Maybe you don’t like me or understand me, but you don’t have to-I don’t need your approval to be happy in my way.
I shine in my own light, love it or leave it.
Just because you don't understand me doesn't mean I don’t care.
I may not always be bubbly and smiling,
but it doesn’t mean I don’t love life like you do.
The things you don't know about me don’t give you the right to assume or judge me.
I have my own style and way of doing things, and perhaps that's not your way..but it doesn't make either of us wrong.
Don't assume you know me when you've never even taken the time to speak to me..understand me..or even befriend me.
Yeah, I smile and maybe flirt a little,
but doesn't mean I'm easy to fall in love.
I’m blunt and to the point, but that doesn’t mean I’m hurtful.
There are times that I just prefer to be alone, thinking and reflecting..
It doesn’t mean I don’t like having friends or being social.
I may wear my heart on my sleeve, but it doesn’t mean I’m naive or foolish.
Don't think I'm upset or sad because I’m quiet- sometimes, I just like my alone time, comfortable in my solitude and introspection.
Often, it’s just because I’m just sitting back and observing the world around me.
That doesn't mean I'm shy or introverted.
So, please, do both of us a favor..
Stop assuming and stop judging.
If you want answers, then you ask your questions.
If you prefer to stand back and make false assumptions, then do it somewhere else.
I don't have the time nor concern to try to prove myself to anyone,
Nor do I care to be judged by someone who doesn’t know me.
I'm comfortable in my own skin, and that's what matters most.
I love me for me..and I don’t need approval for that.
Before you tell me to check my attitude, I wanted to let you know that I already have-
My attitude is great, and so is my life.
I'm not defined by where I've been or what I've done, but where I’m going and the kindness with which I treat others.

The world was too blinded to see that through her imperfectness she still had a purpose
