They are now arguing that Azumini proposed seaport cannot handle 5000 tons ship. This is how they spread ignorance to kill Igbo projects.

Let's educate them with FACTS:

1. Azumini is NOT a river gutter, it's 19 nautical miles to the Atlantic.
The Azumini Blue River joins Imo River which flows 240km directly into the Atlantic through Akwa Ibom. The corridor is just 35km to the sea. With dredging, it becomes a channel — same way Onne and Port Harcourt were dredged.

2. 5000 tons is SMALL even barges carry it.
Do you know that ordinary river barges in Nigeria already carry 2000-8000 tons daily on the Niger? Calabar Port currently with only 9.5m draft handles 15,000-20,000 ton vessels. So anyone saying Azumini cannot handle 5000 tons doesn't know shipping.

The plan is: Dredge to 10-12m depth like Calabar

Use feeder vessels and barges to connect to Ibom Deep Sea Port and Onne

Cargo moves from big ocean ships at Ibom/Onne to Azumini via barges, that is how 80% of ports work in the world (Rotterdam, Antwerp model).

3. The purpose is NOT to compete with Lekki, but to serve Aba.
Aba needs raw materials IN and finished goods OUT. If Azumini handles even 5000-10,000 ton vessels, logistics cost for Aba manufacturers drops by 40-60%. That is the goal not bragging about big ships.

4. They said Onne cannot work, today Onne is Nigeria's most modern port.
They said Ibom Deep Sea Port cannot work, construction has started. They always say Igbo projects cannot work.

They want us to keep going to Lagos to clear goods and then pay N1.8m per truck to bring it to Onitsha. That suffering is their business.

Azumini will work. The feasibility study will prove the dredging requirement, the draft, the cost and the design.

Stop listening to people who have never built a jetty arguing about tonnage.

How Much Blood Must Otuocha Drink? By Family Writers Press International

How many more people must die before we finally admit that something is terribly wrong?

Yesterday, reports has it that houses, kiosks and shops were burnt in Otuocha as the communal conflict between Aguleri and Anam continued.
Further reports indicated that the fighting barely stopped through the night and into this morning. Although, the Nigerian Army has been deployed in the area.

The question we must ask is not simply, “Who started it?”

The bigger question is:

WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?

Every year, it seems there is another confrontation.

If it is not Aguleri and Umueri this year, then it is Umueri and Anam. If it is not Umueri and Anam, then it is Anam and Aguleri. This happens every year, and sometimes twice every year.

Different community names. The same land disputes. The same bloodshed.

Since 1995, Otuocha has repeatedly witnessed communal conflicts. Decades have passed, generations have grown up, and yet we continue to watch our people destroy one another over land and boundaries.

But here is the most painful part:

Sometimes, the very people fighting over the land are the ones who never live to enjoy it.

A young man dies fighting over a piece of land.

A father is buried.

A family is left without its breadwinner.

A mother cries.

Children grow up without their parent.

And the land?

The land remains there.

It does not know the name of the person who died for it.

It does not recognise Aguleri.

It does not recognise Umueri.

It does not recognise Anam.

But human beings are killing human beings over it.

WHY?

Are these three communities the only neighbours in Otuocha? No

Why must generations continue inheriting hatred and unfinished disputes?

Why are we so quick to fight but so slow to mobilise elders for genuine dialogue?

Why do we wait for houses to burn and bodies to fall before everybody suddenly starts shouting for peace?

Enough!

We cannot continue this way.

We are Igbo. We have suffered enough from violence, displacement, insecurity and the destruction of our own communities. We should not become the enemies of ourselves.

Aguleri is not the enemy of Umueri.

Umueri is not the enemy of Anam.

Anam is not the enemy of Aguleri.

The real enemy is the mentality that tells us that blood must be spilled before disputes can be settled.

Let the elders sit down.

Let traditional rulers intervene.

Let government and security agencies protect lives without taking sides.

Let every disputed claim be subjected to dialogue, evidence, history and lawful resolution.

Because no piece of land is worth the life of an Igbo son or daughter.

We don't want another funeral.

We don't want another burnt house.

We don't want another mother screaming over the body of her child.

We don't want another generation growing up believing that their neighbours are their enemies.

Otuocha needs peace. Aguleri needs peace. Umueri needs peace. Anam needs peace. Igboland needs peace.

Let the land remain.

Let our people live.

HOW DID THE NAME “IGBO” BEGIN, AND WHO GAVE IT TO THE PEOPLE?

Have you ever wondered where the name “Igbo” came from? Who first called the people Igbo, and when did the name begin to be used?

The truth is that there is no known individual who can be identified as the person who named the Igbo people “Igbo.” The origin of the name remains a subject of historical and linguistic debate.

What we do know is that the name is much older than British colonial rule in Nigeria. European records from the 17th century already contained references to people identified as “Ibo” or similar spellings. One of the earliest known written references dates to 1627, when Spanish priest Alonso de Sandoval recorded “Ibo” among groups of Africans. Over the centuries, Europeans used different spellings, including Ibo, Eboe and other variations, before the modern spelling “Igbo” became standard.

However, this does not necessarily mean that all the communities we now collectively call Igbo had always understood themselves as one single ethnic group in exactly the same way.

Precolonial Igboland was made up of hundreds of autonomous communities, towns, villages, clans and kingdoms, each with its own local identity and political structure. People could identify strongly with their town, village, lineage or community while also sharing broader cultural and linguistic connections with neighbouring communities.

So, when did “Igbo” become a broad name for all these people?

That is where the history becomes complicated.

There are several theories about the original meaning and origin of the word Igbo. Some scholars have connected it with geographical descriptions such as forest or upland areas, while other explanations have been proposed from Igbo linguistic traditions. However, there is no universally accepted explanation that has conclusively established the original meaning of the word.

What appears clearer is that the word gradually became a broader ethnonym used to describe people who shared related languages, cultures and historical connections across Nigeria.

In other words, there was probably no single day when somebody stood up and said, “From today, these people will be called Igbo.”

The name developed and spread over time.

This is also why it is important to distinguish between the ancient communities and identities within Igboland and the modern concept of a single Igbo ethnic identity. Names such as Nri, Awka, Onitsha, Aro, Ngwa, Adaba, Ohuhu, Nsukka, Ikwere, Abakaliki and Uturu ete represent specific historical communities and identities, while Igbo eventually became the broader identity connecting many of them.

And there is something even more important to remember:

The people themselves existed long before Europeans wrote the word “Ibo” or “Igbo” in their records.

Written records only tell us when outsiders began recording the name. They do not mark the beginning of the people, their communities, their language or their civilisation.

So, if someone asks, “Who named the Igbo people Igbo?”, the most historically responsible answer is:

We do not know of one person who gave the people that name. The word “Igbo” appears in historical records centuries ago, but its exact origin and original meaning remain debated. What we can trace is the gradual development of “Igbo” into the broad ethnic identity recognised today.
Copied.

*FREEDOM, 1960*

The country is older than anyone's consent.

In 1914 a man drew a line and did not ask who lived on either side.
In 1960 we were handed the line and told it was a nation.

At seven this morning the flag sellers are at the junction,
green-white-green folded over their arms like wet laundry.

The light has been out since Tuesday.
The generator will do the celebrating.

We sing the anthem we were given.
Then another one. Then the first again.
Neither has ever fed anyone.

The motorcade has its own road.
The rest of us have the other one.

Sixty-six years of independence,
and we still ask the same map for permission.
Nobody says whose freedom.
Everyone says happy.

BIAFRA OR DEATH by Mazi Chinasa Nworu:

A lot of people have misinterpreted this IPOB slogan , Biafra or death and for clarity seek : The"Biafra or Death" slogan is a potent, extremely contentious slogan and mental belief system.
Enemies of Biafra restoration and those outside the struggle perceive the Biafra or death slogan as a provocation for violent rebellion, extreme secessionism, and ethnic animosity.

However , "Biafra or Death" does not necessarily imply the start of a traditional military conflict. Rather, it represents a dedication to relentless agitation , indicating that Biafrans will persistently agitate and champion for a referendum and autonomy, irrespective of imprisonment, Nigerian government repression, or life-threatening risks.

In IPOB's media, the slogan is presented as a protective measure. IPOB members are consistently saying that staying in Nigeria subjects the Biafra people to systemic marginalization, poverty, and violent insecurity, asserting that Biafrans encounter "death either way" if they do not separate from the contraption called Nigeria .

MAZI NNAMDI KANU AND LESSON FOR US AS A PEOPLE.

In the next eight decades from now, most of us reading this post might have left the planet including the writer. Those who would have been alive, will be socially invaluable. It is just what it is! That you pray and shakes hands with the highest pantheon, doesn't elude you this very pathway to go through. To the self-delusional and deceivers, the above submission will be met with “God forbid”! To those who understand reality, they will live their lives in tandem with that very fact that time and ageing are real which the climax is death.

Denial of age, time, and death, doesn't make them non-existent. Your denial can only make them approach you unprepared and thus turns your old age miserable because you deceptively chose to lie to yourself to voluntery choice for self-denial. I chose this to prepare your mind on realism of life that most of us wishfully think life is piloted from one's bed 🛌 and phone keyboard. Never!

MNK AND KENYA

The choice of East Africa tours by a man wanted by a rogue state and its partners to live in a volatile East Africa, was the mother of a terrible decision by one carrying hopes of many. In historiography, you can't discuss a problem without tracing its origin. The downfall of MNK was his voluntery choice of East Africa. Not just the choice, but his choice of blending that with drama of “100 Days' Prayers” and “mountain praying” slogan by Barrister Alloy Ejimakor to millions of Biafrans.

It is extremely difficult to present that East African trip as wise. In early 2021, some of us had wanted to push it as an “act of God” but I personally knew that there is absolutely no God in the decision of going to East Africa rather pure human choice.

“INTERNATIONALLY PROTECTED PERSON”

This is another demonic and moronic slogan pushed by Barrister Alloy Ejimakor to the ears of MNK that might have led to his relaxation that the world owes him protection. Anyways, that has been how we reason as people, always banking on illusions rather than facing issues ideally. Even those protected by global laws like heads of state, and Government, we have seen where they were picked up like chaffs and the world still moved on.

Maduro of Venezuela was against International laws and conventions yet the ever-busy world moved on. While we entertained ourselves with sweet stories, the beasts of the world, bite without conscience. The concept of IPP as pushed by Alloy was a ploy to make MNK untouchable thereby making him extremely careless to choice of places.

ARGUMENT ON TRANSIT VERSUS LIVING IN EAST AFRICA

Many theories were pushed to IPOB members after Kenya's collaboration with MNK’s arrest. For instance, the theory that “he was arrested while in transit”. We got mad on act by the Kenyan authorities for picking up a man in transit. But wait for a minute, transit means he must have been a Kenya Airways passenger heading to an unknown destination?

While transit was rang on our ears, a disposed affidavit to a Kenyan Court by his siblings, stated clearly that “he lived in Kenya”. Why believe you can tell the Kenyans the truth but keep lying to the people who funded him? That doesn't make sense to me. It is important to note that Kenyan might have protected MNK if he had gone into the country through the IPOB channel where the movement would have cleared the ground for him diplomatically first. But because he thinks the world is a place of joke, he was cajoled with the slogan of “International Protected Person”.

MNK is not the only fugitive chased by state actors. The spiritual leader of Tibet Tenzin Gyatso is still protected by Indian State despite Chinese pressure to have him extradited to China. The only difference here is that while Tenzin Gyatso's trip to India was transparent and his followers put the necessary pressure to the Indian State, that of MNK was secret and in disconnection from those who ought to have applied the necessary pressure. So the path one chooses, determines the result he gets in life.

Another example is Fethullah Gülen (though died in 2024) who was a Turkish fugitive in the USA. He never hid his location nor lied to his people about the need to seek for USA against fierce Turkish state. United State protected him just as India did to Gyatso despite pressure. MNK ignorantly was fooled to step out of his web of protection (IPOB) and within a short period of time, he was disgraced and humiliated. Funny enough, those who encouraged him to take that dark path, are expected same leadership he failed to crush, to keep advocating for him! That is great just a position.

It will interest you to know that MNK isn't the only top generals of the movement that the Nigerian state has planned to extradite. They tried it with Edoziem and IPOB fought against it. Chinasa Nworu just escaped from same conspiracy because IPOB put up her strength against that. The only reason between their failed extradition and that of MNK is that while they used the power of Igwe bu ike (IPOB), MNK chose the power of few crazy psychophants who told him what he wanted to hear not what he was supposed to hear!

WHERE WE ARE NOW

Governments all over the world are not daft nor stupid. Nigeria is understanding the influence base of MNK while considering how to relate with him. Prior to 2023, he was in every politician lips as they understood how important to discuss about him. That very opportunity was blown up when Barrister Alloy and his siblings secretly had a meeting with Sheyi Tinubu without informing the leadership.

It was when they couldn't succeed in stopping Tinubu’s name being mentioned on Radio Biafra as one of the condition before Tinubu will do his part, that they started an attack on Radio Biafra and the leadership. When the attack couldn't force the leadership to chicken out, they switched to opening their pariah radio station.

MNK 100% got himself in today's mess due to his choice to keep lying to those who gave him everything they had including their lives. While he keeps the path of lies and self deception, the people keep seeing him for whom he is. It might not be a sweet path to call him out for whom he is but the most betrayal I can give to myself, is self-deception.

MNK weakened himself and not anyone else did that to him. The essence of this write-up is for us to understand that it does not matter whom you think you are, any day you think you are smart while undoing the people's interests, you are invariably on the path of MNK. Nobody is above lesson from nature.

The leadership IPOB should work with this understanding that MNK is on the weak position to project Biafra. He can only negotiate for his freedom and retires like Tompolo, Asari Dokubo, Ateke Tom and nothing more. He was screwed and worked upon. Whatever deal he reaches to get out of detention should be allowed and encouraged since he is not in a leadership position to negotiate unbehalf of the movement.

Wisdom or Sabotage? Why Aloy Ejimakor’s Strategy Puts Nnamdi Kanu at Greater Risk: By Emeka Gift

This is why I said Aloy Ejimakor wants Nnamdi Kanu to sink deeper.

On one hand, he presents himself as someone seeking President Tinubu’s pardon for Nnamdi Kanu. On the other hand, he makes reckless public statements that destroy any realistic chance of a round-table discussion with the same president. Those two positions cannot stand together. That is why I said either wisdom is far from Aloy Ejimakor, or he is deliberately working toward Nnamdi Kanu’s destruction.

You cannot ask Tinubu for mercy while attacking him in the most personal and politically damaging way. There is no serious path to a presidential pardon if the same lawyer representing Nnamdi Kanu goes on social media to call Tinubu a drug lord in America and to claim that Tinubu will be arrested if he travels there. Politics is not a shouting match. It is negotiation. If you insult the man whose signature you need, you close the door before you even knock.

Ask the simple question: if you were Tinubu, what would you do if Aloy later came to you for a presidential pardon after unguided statement? Would you feel pressured into generosity, or would you conclude that this man is not seeking a solution but seeking a spectacle? That is why I said wisdom is far from Aloy.

The legal and political reality has also changed. Nnamdi Kanu has been convicted by a court. That means the old talking points no longer apply in the same way. The available political solution now is a presidential pardon. Terms and conditions have changed.

Let me explain in details why conviction changed the meaning of a “Political Solution”

The political path in Nnamdi Kanu’s case is no longer the same as it was before judgment. The main remaining political option is a presidential pardon. That follows from a basic change in the legal position: a court has already convicted him.

This distinction is important. When DOS, under Mazi Chika Edoziem, argued for a political solution, Kanu had not yet been found guilty. The bargaining could still be framed from a position of strength as a negotiation between the state and IPOB movement. In that setting, terms could be bargained, dialogue, release, and political settlement could be discussed as a deal rather than as a request for mercy. Public support for Kanu also appeared stronger then, which gave the argument more leverage.

Conviction altered the structure of the political solution. Once a court has delivered a verdict, especially one resulting in life imprisonment, the matter is no longer mainly a pre-trial political dispute. It becomes a post-judgment question. The president is no longer being asked only to pause a prosecution or create room for talks. He is being asked to set aside the consequence of a completed trial. That is a different request, and it depends on a different power: the power of pardon.

This is why the phrase “political solution” cannot be used in the same way as before. Before verdict, it could mean bargaining from a position of political strength. After verdict, it means an appeal to executive discretion. The first is negotiation. The second is clemency. The conditions have changed with that shift.

Aloy Ejimakor’s handling of the case now sits inside that new reality. Whatever the intention, the conviction and sentence define the available options. Public pressure, online campaigns, and further legal argument may still matter, but they do not restore the pre-verdict bargaining position. They do not return both sides to a table where terms can be traded as if no judgment had been given. The decisive remaining political door is presidential pardon.

That change also affects the tone required. A bargain can survive hard public rhetoric. A pardon is less likely to. Clemency depends on the willingness of President Tinubu. If the public strategy treats the president as an adversary to be attacked rather than an authority whose discretion must be engaged, the only remaining political remedy becomes harder to obtain.

The point is therefore straightforward. The earlier political solution was possible because no court had yet spoken. The present political solution exists because the court has spoken. What was once a negotiation is now a request for forgiveness. Those who speak as if the old conditions still apply are describing a moment that has already passed.

FOLLOWERSHIP BASED ON IDEOLOGY SUPERCEDES PERSONALITY CULT: by Mazi Chika Austin

I would love to start this personal clarification with an un-African way by letting my readers understand that I am 40 years old of age with various degrees of personal experience. I am relatively educated and informed on areas of global developments cm politics. Currently, I am a Director of an incorporated entity with a viable staff scale and sound transactional records that keep my corporate identity afloat. Those who have no incorporated identity, might not understand the importance of moral will and reputational protection towards one's survival.

I believe in self determination and not self deception. It doesn't matter whom you think you are, you are not greater than the ideology you push. Men might be corruptible, but ideologies are meant to be incorruptible and “maior quam auctor”. Any ideology that the leader is greater than, is not only a hoax but a fraud. The gullibles follow individuals while the sound minds focus on the ideology. Men can fail and work assiduously to undermine the ideas they earlier professed, but ideologies remain “aeternus”.

I might have supported Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at my prime age with every fiber in me, that very support was solemnly anchored on the IDEA for self determination he pushed with the slogan “WHITER THAN WHITE” which connotatively means “upright and incorruptible. The post-Kenya debacle got me not only disappointed in him but disgusted at his futile efforts to shy away from taking responsibility of the mess emanating from his Kenya cm Ethiopian outing.

I ordinarily don't treasure speculative reportage as my background training is embedded in me, the ironclad culture of work with FACT and not speculation. Incident around 2020 prior to the 2021 picking up MNK in Kenya, shows that MNK contrary to DISCIPLINE he preached, was far from being one. Sadly that the likes of Alloy could use the word “transiting” in addressing MNK life in Kenya while addressing Biafrans while the true and right word is “living” in Kenya.

On September 15th 2021, a brother of MNK granted an interview to a Kenyan daily where the said brother admitted on record that “Nnamdi Kanu lived in Kilimani Kenya 🇰🇪” prior to his arrest. The family couldn't use the term “on transit” to the Kenyan tabloid because they knew that Kenyans are not stupid nor gullible like some of us. They said the truth but got home, shouting transit! If to the Kanus, the Kenyans deserve to know the truth of what transpired but to the members of IPOB, we are seen to be too stupid to be fooled with weak “transit” stories that are extremely incoherent.

Kilimani Kenya 🇰🇪 is like American Las Vegas. A quick Google search would inform you better of what Kilimani Kenya where MNK lived looks like. A city like Kilimani Nairobi that MNK lived in, shows how careless he was in handling sensitive self. Kilimani being a commercial city in Kenya, is attractive to various global agents who disguise themselves as CEO but are in for spying and dirty jobs. This is what google said, “Features renowned local and global culinary spots such as Mama Oliech (famous for fried tilapia) and upscale venues like the Lord Erroll, alongside active nightlife spots like Quiver Lounge and rooftop bars.

Rather treating Biafrans respectively as Kenyans by telling them same truth, MNK and his siblings resolved to creating infighting and destabilization of IPOB just to create destructive and distracting measures amongst the Biafran people just to force them to lose focus from asking about what happened in Kenya. A family nor a man who could tell the Kenyans the truth but decided to play a destructive games against those who funded his luxurious and wasteful life in Ethiopia and Kenya, don't deserve my loyalty or accolades.

In Kenya, the net worth of MNK is 14 million dollars which is approximately 18,536,140,000.00 Naira. Each time I think of personalisation of people's donations for their freedom by MNK and his siblings under the auspices of “our brand” while hundreds of IPOB members are experiencing the worst of life across all board, I keep asking myself the ground to sound my previous tone to MNK. 14 million dollars net worth of supposedly an “activist” with no company nor production plant in anywhere in the world, shows why they use the word “brand” in describing IPOB. 14 Millon Dollars for life in Kilimani Nairobi not for Biafran project support but for buying of houses, worthless luxurious cars and climbing. MNK sabotaged Biafran project!!!

The honest truth that might itch your ear is that MNK lacks discipline and in his efforts to distract people from seeing his lose lifestyles, have shipwrecked himself. I don't wish you see things from my own angle but remember, time has been right on our side. I do not worship mortals rather I worship and protect good ideology. So when individuals change, expect change from my tone. I am not a program rather a rational thinker.
