Salvation is not a religion — it’s a relationship with Jesus. Without Him, we are lost; with Him, we are found.
Title: “It’s Not Religion — It’s Relationship”
Text: John 14:6 — Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Message:
Beloved, many people think salvation is about following church rules, wearing certain clothes, or belonging to a denomination. But the truth is this — salvation is not a religion; it is a relationship.
Religion says, “Do this to reach God.”
Relationship says, “God has already reached you through Jesus.”
Religion builds walls.
Relationship builds bridges.
Religion is man’s attempt to find God.
But salvation is God’s plan to find man.
When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, man lost fellowship with God. But through Jesus Christ, that fellowship was restored. So when we say “we are saved,” we mean we have been brought back into friendship with our Creator.
Without Jesus, you can go to church and still be empty.
Without Jesus, you can sing hymns and still be lost.
Without Jesus, you can quote scriptures and still miss heaven.
But when Jesus enters your life, everything changes.
He turns your religion into revelation, your rituals into relationship, and your church attendance into communion.
What Salvation Truly Means
Salvation is not about being perfect — it’s about being connected.
It’s not about your title — it’s about your testimony.
It’s not about how many times you fall — it’s about how many times His grace lifts you back up.
When Jesus saves you, you no longer walk alone. The Holy Spirit begins to guide your steps, comfort your heart, and renew your mind. That’s not religion — that’s relationship.
Call to Reflection
My brother, my sister — have you met Jesus personally? Not just the church Jesus, not just the Sunday Jesus, but the living Jesus who walks with you in your pain and speaks to your heart in the silence?
If you haven’t, open your heart today and say:
Lord Jesus, I don’t want religion anymore. I want a real relationship with You.
Forgive my sins, come into my heart, and be my Lord and Savior.
And the Bible says in Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.”
Closing Charge¹
Don’t just attend church — become the church.
Don’t just know about Jesus — walk with Him.
Because salvation isn’t something you do once; it’s someone you know daily.
And His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
