THANK YOU, GOVERNOR CHARLES CHUKWUMA SOLUDO, CFR
The good people of Nteje sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, Governor of Anambra State, for upholding justice, fairness, and respect for due process in the Nteje Igweship matter.
The Nteje Constitution provides for a rotational Igweship arrangement among the three major sections of the community:
Ezi Nteje produced Igwe-Abogu I, who reigned with an Anambra State Certificate of Recognition.
Ikenga Nteje produced Igwe-Abogu II, who also reigned with an Anambra State Certificate of Recognition.
By this rotational arrangement, it is now the turn of Ifite Nteje to produce Igwe-Abogu III.
Following this constitutional principle, HRM Christopher Okechukwu Nnebo (Abogu III) was elected by Ifite Nteje as Igwe-Abogu III.
We appreciate Your Excellency for not issuing an Igweship Certificate in February 2026 in a manner that, in the view of many in Nteje, would have been inconsistent with the established rotational arrangement under the Nteje Constitution.
Our hope is that justice, equity, peace, and respect for the rule of law will continue to guide every decision concerning the traditional institution of Nteje.
Justice strengthens peace. Fairness promotes unity. Respect for constitutional processes preserves the dignity and harmony of our community.
