Osun Council Poll:PDP Members Urge Governor Adeleke To Prevent Imposition of Candidates

Some members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in local communities across Osun State have urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to intervene and disallow imposition of candidates on them during the forthcoming local council primary election.

In a press release issued by the Concerned Osun PDP Stakeholders on Saturday the group said,"Against the overall interest of Osun PDP members, some desperate party leaders have decided to impose candidates to the detriment of our great party.

"This plan, if allowed to fly, will inevitably cause agitations and protests across the board.

“We are, therefore, concerned that if this planned undemocratic selection of chairmanship and councillorship candidates are not looked into, it may spell doom for our party. Certainly, what we abhor is the disintegration of the party, ” the group noted.

PDP Chieftain Hails Abiodun Abidoye's Appointment As Senior Special Assistant To Osun State Governor

A chieftain of the People's Democratic Party(PDP)in Boripe LGA, Hon. Abiodun Ajayi has congratulated Barrister John Abolarin Abidoye, on his appointment as Senior Special Assistant(SSA)to the Governor of Osun State.

The PDP stalwart also expressed appreciation to Governor Ademola Adeleke for the appointment.

In a statement signed and issued by Hon. Abiodun Ajayi in Iree town on Wednesday, he described Barrister Abidoye's appointment as a welcome development, stressing that the renowned legal practitioner, possesses the experience, exposure and expertise required to excel in his new assignment.

He said he was happy the Governor found him worthy of such significant role in his government.

Abiodun Ajayi said he is optimistic that Abidoye would excel in his new role as Senator Ademola Adeleke ’s SSA on Governor's Office Affairs giving his antecedence as an efficient administrator.

The Chairman of Oluomo and Sons Limited urged the newly appointed SSA to deploy his energy, tact and skills in ensuring the current political administration in Osun excels.

“It is a call to serve and I trust Barrister Abidoye’s capacity to make a huge success of the new assignment.

"I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Governor for this great honour and recognition accorded him”, Abiodun Ajayi stated.

The appointment which takes immediate effect was contained in a letter issued by the Secretary to the State Government.

Oyewo Congratulates Tinubu, APC Over Supreme Court Triumph

The immediate past Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, on Thursday, congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the Supreme Court’s verdict which upheld the President’s victory in the February 25, 2023, presidential election.

The Osun APC chieftain, in a statement he personally signed and issued in Osogbo, rejoiced with President Tinubu and the ruling party for the validation of their victory in the presidential poll.

Hon. Oyewo noted that the apex court’s verdict has removed whatever doubt that might have been raised on the integrity of the last presidential election.

According to him: “Now that the litigations are over, we should all rally as one people behind the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, in his commitment to implement the 'Renewed Hope' agenda designed to achieve a greater nation.

“The opposition should gracefully accept the final ruling of our court of law with a view to supporting the president and his team in the arduous task of nation-building," he said.

Hon. Olubukola Oyewo also congratulated the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, the leadership and members of the APC in Osun as well as the entire nation.

Oyewo commended President Tinubu for putting the nation on the path of sustainable development, while praying for his success.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Osun, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing one of the state's illustrious sons,
Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, as substantive Managing Director/CEO of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

The former lawmaker for Osogbo Federal Constituency, in a statement he personally signed and issued on Wednesday said “While I am not surprised by Alhaji Oyebamiji ’s appointment, I am thankful and indebted to the Tinubu-led Federal Government for rewarding competence, accountability, and integrity which this illustrious son of Osun has always demonstrated.
