*AS THE CHURCH IS IN PAINS, SOCIETY IS IN DECADENCE!*
My dear, the system has been rigged, the Church has long drifted, conscience has been sabotaged and truth incarcerated. These are renewed dark ages in the Church and *we should now be praying for real revival in the Church-* Revival of *conscience*, revival of *humane* considerations, revival from *Mormonism*, revival from *pulpit criminality* and evil *religio-politicking* , revival from *derailing motivationalism* and back to *simple biblical principles!* It's not the present revival of *"emotionalism"* and *"acrobaticsm"* but something more in depth, really reflecting on effective and affective characters that portray evident change.

Many in the Church leadership of today are even more confused than the unbelievers regarding *biblical theologies* yet they are carrying on and waxing stronger in *prosperity and popularity index* because there seems to be a new yardstick for measuring ministerial success - Money! And, the vehicle to carry it on is "motivationals" that seem to agree but not really consistent with biblical truths.

Surely, although the Church is still surviving, she is in actual disarray. Now, see how it has reflected on society today- decadence. The Church that was supposed to be the conscience of the society has herself become callous. Our Youths keep lamenting "Church is a scam" because of us, the leaders. The Church that the saints of old left for us is no longer there. What we would leave for the next generation, if Christ tarries, is "this thing" that we have left without conscience that has become a structure of "oppression, nepotism, fraud, hypocrisy, sychophancy, etc". May God save the Church from US!

May August yield her wealth to us. May divine guidance sustain us. May new doors of favours be opened unto us. May we live healthy and not die before our time. May our tables of celebration be set by the Angels of God themselves. May our hopes never be disappointed. It's the 8th month, let it be our Rehoboth month of new beginnings, new dimensions and new testimonies in Jesus mighty name amen.

Some of us are projected for the toughest... Sometimes, I don't blame Esau at all. It's destiny and not his personal fault! Sometimes, you really need to know and accept the fact that some challenges come as default in your life. You just have to try your best and leave the rest with your Maker. Just make sure you're not silent or idle. Everything begins and ends with God. Be encouraged, you're trying!

THE ONLY ASSÁSS!NATED BRITISH PRIME MINISTER

In 1812, British Prime Minister Spencer Perceval was assassinated—the only such killing in history. The shooter, John Bellingham, a merchant, acted not as a terrorist or spy but out of a shocking personal grievance: paperwork. Betrayed by bureaucracy, Bellingham had been falsely imprisoned in Russia from 1804, enduring six years of torture and losing his business after his travel papers were confiscated. The British government dismissed his pleas for help with, “Not our problem.” Back in England by 1809, he sought compensation, filing petitions for three years, only to face endless demands for more forms. In April 1812, a civil servant’s vague remark—“Take whatever measures you think proper”—pushed him over the edge. Bellingham bought pistols, tailored a coat pocket, and shot Perceval point-blank in Parliament, declaring, “I am murdered!” as he fell. Bellingham calmly awaited arrest. His trial stunned England; many sympathized with his claim: “I tried every legal channel.” A French observer noted, “You taught ministers to do justice.” Hanged after a one-day trial, Bellingham’s last words were, “I feel no hate for Perceval, but he led the government that refused me justice.” The aftermath reformed complaint systems, introduced citizen protections, and saw no further PM assassinations. Ironically, Parliament later confirmed Bellingham’s claims were valid—too late for both men.

This story shows how systems, when they prioritize protocol over people, can turn ordinary citizens into deadly threats.

BACK TO MY ROOT?
Obviously, I'm an Igbo man and I cherish being that irrespective of all disparaging sentimentalities from detractors of Igboism. Christian priesthood has not contradicted my identification as an Igbo man. However, the growing trend of "going back to our roots" has become a subject of deep concern as many proponents of the same do not even have the faintest understanding of what it actually entails. Culture is convenient to be defined as people's way of life. Culture as a system is identification of one's unique natural origin which also encompasses original language, color, food, dresses, and such as distinguishes one person or a community of persons from another. Religion may be cultural but to an extent because it can cut across mere anthropological culture. It is in itself a culture because it is a system of belief. This is why there are concepts like "acculturation, enculturation and inculturation" all in the bid to see to the synergizing of culture and religious experiences and expressions.

"Going back to my root" doesn't and shouldn't translate to mean abandoning my Christian faith!
"Going back to my root" doesn't translate to syncretism in which core distinct elements of two different religions are unequally yoked together. That's unfair. Going back to my root is identifying with your people's normal and natural uniqueness. Spirituality is not always cultural because it's objectively communal and subjectively personal. I'm an Igbo man and I'm a Christian.
