Angry Nigerians Descended on RCCG page because of G. O Adeboye silence on insecurity and State of the Nation

Nigerians on Twitter (now X) are questioning the silence of the General Overseer of the Redeem Christian Church for his silence despite the ongoing nationwide insecurity and persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

Many are pointing to the fact that Pastor Enoch Adeboye led a protest against President Goodluck Jonathan Administration because of insecurity and worked against the then administration citing insecurity to pave way for Muhammadu Buhari who later became the chief terror sponsor and grand patron of Boko Haram.

An X user with the name Dr. O tweeted in response to RCCG " Adebole drank tea with god but has failed to tell god to solve Nigeria's problems.

Adebole drank tea with god but the prophecy about the Naira that he pronounced since Feb 2016 is still not fulfilled.

Adebole is a conman, a liar and part of the ruiners of Nigeria.
Na mumu dey believe that man."

Another with the name adesolayomi "God will punish all of you. this was adeboye during jonathan’s regime. there are videos of him literally leading protests during that period. why the Bleep did he suddenly stop doing these things when the husband of a pastor in his church became president, even though it worsened?"

Another angry nigerian with the name mfunmilola tweeted " RCCG is the religious wing of the APC.

Pastor Adeboye has never publicly criticized the Tinubu administration.

Exodus 23:8 (KJV):
"And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous."
You have eaten, and now your mouth is locked.

Pastor Adeboye is in his 80s and still appears reluctant and afraid to speak truth to power. At a time like this, the kind of preaching that matters most is speaking out and holding the government accountable.

Pastor Adeboye should seek God’s face now before it’s too late.

A lot of people can’t be wrong. We are not fools. We expected more from you as the leader of over 20 million Christian worshippers in Nigeria.

A user with the name bayomoreblessing "Na this same RCCG made me stop going to church for years cos of their dubious ways💯💯I was in one RCCG church one day and the Pastor said, Daddy G.O gave him an anointing oil cos their tithe & offering for the previous month was high and he urges everyone to do more that new month..

So my question is, what should happen to other churches with less offering & tithe??💔💔

They don’t deserve anointing oil or what??
I almost cry that day, I left before the service ended".

Obi of akwaibom responded to RCCG_PR " This here is a blatant LIE

Show us where he spoke against Tinubu and his government?

He carried a placard against Jonathan but for Tinubu he has been quiet and prayerful

The same prayers he never prayed for Jonathan and his government.

All of you know what you are doing and God is watching y'all continue lying

You should have just remained silent as you have been rather than coming out to drop this lie of a take."

Nigeria Airforce and U.S Africomm joint offensive against ISIS terrorists in Lake Chad basin neutralized commander; Abu-Mainok

President Bola Tinubu, on Saturday, confirmed the killing of a wanted Islamic State (IS) leader, Abu-Bilal Al-Manuki, also known as Abu-Mainok, during a joint counterterrorism operation conducted by Nigerian and United States forces in the Lake Chad Basin.

Tinubu said the operation, carried out overnight by the Nigerian Armed Forces in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the United States, dealt “a heavy blow” to the ranks of the Islamic State.

According to the President, early assessments from the operation confirmed that Abu-Mainok and several of his lieutenants were eliminated during a strike on his compound in the Lake Chad Basin.

In a statement personally signed by him, Tinubu described the operation as a significant example of effective collaboration between Nigeria and the United States in the fight against terrorism.

“Overnight, Nigeria and the United States recorded a significant example of effective collaboration in the fight against terrorism,” the President said.

“Our determined Nigerian Armed Forces, working closely with the Armed Forces of the United States, conducted a daring joint operation that dealt a heavy blow to the ranks of the Islamic State.”

He added that the successful operation underscored the importance of international partnerships in addressing security threats confronting the region.

“Nigeria appreciates this partnership with the United States in advancing our shared security objectives,” Tinubu stated.

The President also expressed gratitude to United States President Donald Trump for what he described as his “leadership and unwavering support” in the operation.

“I extend my sincere gratitude to President Trump for his leadership and unwavering support in this effort,” he said.

Tinubu commended the military personnel involved in the operation on both sides for their professionalism and courage.

“I commend the personnel involved on both sides for their professionalism and courage, and I look forward to more decisive strikes against all terrorist enclaves across the nation,” the President added.

Meanwhile, for his part, US President Trump, in a post on his verified social media account, described the operation as a “meticulously planned and very complex mission” jointly executed by American and Nigerian forces.

The US President said the operation targeted Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, whom he described as the “second in command of ISIS globally.”

“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield,” Trump wrote.

“Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS globally, thought he could hide in Africa, but little did he know we had sources who kept us informed on what he was doing.

“He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa, or help plan operations to target Americans. With his removal, ISIS’s global operation is greatly diminished.”

Trump also thanked the Nigerian government for its partnership in the operation.

“Thank you to the Government of Nigeria for your partnership on this operation,” he added.

Senate amends rules for electing presiding officers, bars new lawmakers from aspiring to positions

The new provision effectively means that only members of the current Senate who have completed at least eight consecutive years in the chamber will be eligible to contest for presiding offices after the 2027 general elections.

The Senate on Tuesday amended its rules to allow only senators who have spent at least eight years in the chamber to contest for the positions of Senate President and Deputy Senate President.

The amendment further stipulates that such years of service must be two consecutive terms immediately preceding the nomination.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced the amendment after a majority of senators adopted it through a voice vote during plenary.

The new provision effectively means that only members of the current Senate who have completed at least eight consecutive years in the chamber will be eligible to contest for presiding offices after the 2027 general elections.

The upper chamber, under Mr Akpabio’s leadership, had attempted a similar amendment in August 2023 but abandoned the process following opposition from some lawmakers.

US And Iran Fail To Reach Agreement In Pakistan

The United States and Iran failed to reach an agreement after a day of highly anticipated face-to-face peace talks, Washington's lead negotiator Vice President J.D. Vance announced on Sunday.

"The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement. And I think that's bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news for the US... they have chosen not to accept our terms," Vance said in a press conference in Islamabad, before boarding Airforce Two to leave the country.

Asked what the major sticking point had been that led to the breakdown in negotiations, Vance said: "The simple fact is that we need to see an affirmative commitment that they will not seek a nuclear weapon, and they will not seek the tools that would enable them to quickly achieve a nuclear weapon."

However, he left open the possibility an agreement could still be reached, saying: "We leave here with a very simple proposal: a method of understanding that is our final and best offer," adding, "We'll see if the Iranians accept it."

The talks — which lasted for 21 hours — began in Islamabad on Saturday as the two sides looked to reach a deal to end the war that has shaken the Middle East for six weeks. It was the first face-to-face engagement between the U.S. and Iran since 2015, when the Obama administration negotiated a nuclear deal with Iran that was later scrapped by Trump.

The negotiations took place amid a fragile ceasefire between the two countries, made even more shaky following Israel's continued strikes on Lebanon and Iran's demand to maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz.
