The wizkid arrogance and self praised will lead to his untimely musical demise.

An afrobeat superstar who rose to prominence through the help of Mr Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W. Some years ago, got drunk with fame, drugs and money to come out publicly via social media to arrogate himself in the same conversation with the afrobeat pioneer, revolutionary, instrumentalists and voice against oppression.

The feud started online through the wizkid fanbase coming on social media to compare their demigod to legendary Fela Kuti, an act Seun Kuti (One of Late Fela's son) found disrespectful and insulting to the legacy of Fela Kuti.

Seun Kuti asserted that wizkid is trying to gain relevance back in the music industry and couldn't gain relevance but resorted to chasing clout and social media trend by instigating his followers to use Fela's name to gain attention because his recent albums flopped and his influence in the music industry gradually waning due to lack of his originality, self serving and ungrateful act.

Instead of playing the wise one, the wizkid acted his name and claimed to be greater than Fela Anikulapo Kuti, a post he later deleted after backlash and uproar from Nigerians, Africans and global citizens.

The new generation (Gen Z) are not aware that most of the privileges now enjoyed today by afrobeat musicians was fought for by Fela Kuti, a battle that led to his imprisonment countless times. Fela Anikulapo Kuti had opportunity to be silent and enjoyed his riches like others but his values was more than having fame, money, influence and connections while the common suffers.

He was a teacher, musician, humanitarian, fighter, instrumentalists, revolutionary and a movement against neocolonialism and military oppression.

This generation of musicians that are drug addicts fraudsters and always seeking for public validation without a just cause, their ignorant followers who worshipped them are failed students of history, if Fela is not great and iconic, the wizkid will not tattoo Fela's face in his hand.

The same wizkid who rose to stardom through the help of his E. M. E label boss (Banky W) has failed to raised another artistes to stardom but self serving and self praising but now rising on Asake's back for momentum, hit songs and joint albums.

THE CHALLENGES OF YOUTHS IN NIGERIA AND THE WILL TO ESCAPE STRUCTURED POVERTY

The youths are the bridge between the aged and the children, and they are responsible for 80% of innovative ventures, ideas, technology and inventions. The significance of the youths to economic and physical development cannot be underemphasized, one of the reasons corporate establishments and other organizations are always looking towards recruiting and employing vibrant, educated and innovative driven youths into their workforce.

The potential of African youths are numerous with emphasis to Nigerian youths that have proven to be globally competitive with their counterpart from other regions. The foundation of the Nigerian state did not provide opportunities for the youths to thrive and succeed except for few ones who have rich parental support and others who choose to escape the colonial contraption by fleeing to Europe or U.S in seeking for greener pasture.
The never back down attitude and strong mental fortitude for success of the average Nigerian youths have made many to devise strategies to escape the structured poverty and oppression of the state.

To some, having a degree and masters will provide an edge to seek employment in blue-chip and multinational organizations; but the massive rate of youths unemployment despite their academic qualifications have made many to believe that school is a scam.

To some, learn a trade and be self-employed or become a specialist; but lack of capital to expand the scope of the operation, and also inconsistency in government policies have crippled so many ventures.
Many talents have been wasted to cultism and banditry (idle hands being a devil’s workshop), with active participation of youths in rituals and kidnapping as a source of income and success.

While some are patient believing that their riches is in heaven according to the doctrines of the pastors, but with pastors and clerics flaunting wealth, owing luxury houses and exotic vehicles in their entourage and garage like politicians, these have made many to lose their patience and looking for ways to enjoy the goodness and riches of life following the ways of the clergies and not their words. With every means possible, some have sold their ancestral lands and properties with intentions to use the proceed to relocate abroad to seek for menial jobs and permanent residency.

Others without ancestral inheritance with the fear of unending hardship have lost their path to drugs to seek temporary happiness and comfort, with crime on the rise and those engaging in it flourishing and sending their children to school abroad following the footstep of the politicians.

The ones with the fear of God decided to cultivate the portion of their ancestral land to provide food for their families and sell to raise money for immediate needs, but Fulani herdsmen a.k.a bandits destroyed the produces with the herds of cows or murder some that are not so unlucky.

IS PRESIDENT TINUBU THE MESSIAH NIGERIANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR ? OR ATIKU ABUBAKAR OR PETER OBI?
