His Royal Majesty, Oba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Ilufemiloye, Akinyooye III, the Olufon of Ifon-Osun, Orolu Kingdom, on Thursday honoured the invitation of His Royal Majesty, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa I, the Timi of Ede, to attend the grand 2025 edition of the Sango-Timi Cultural Festival held in Ede, Osun State. The Olufon of Ifon-Osun graced the festival in his royal splendour, accompanied by his chiefs and officials.

The highlight of the colourful celebration was the breathtaking performance of “Sango Olufon,” the distinguished Elegun Sango from Ifon-Osun, who dazzled the audience with unmatched spiritual display, dance artistry, and mastery of the sacred thunder ritual. Among all the “Elegun Sango” from different Yoruba towns across the South West that competed in performance, Sango Olufon shone brightest, earning thunderous applause and admiration from both the crowd and dignitaries. His commanding performance, deeply rooted in ancient Orolu tradition, not only captivated the spectators but also reinforced Ifon-Osun’s reputation as one of the oldest and most culturally endowed Yoruba towns.

Impressed by the electrifying performance, the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa I, commended the Olufon of Ifon-Osun for preserving and promoting authentic Yoruba cultural heritage. He described the participation of Sango Olufon as “a true reflection of Yoruba unity, strength, and ancestral pride.” Kabiyesi Olufon, in his royal remarks, expressed gratitude to the Timi for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining cultural values that bind Yoruba towns together.
