No matter how wealthy you are, once you miss it maritally you would wish to trade your wealth for correction.

Let God direct you, don't be in a hurry to avoid missing it in Life.

A bad marriage can threaten your heavenly race and your wealth wouldn't be able to stop it.

Topic: Do not trade your Birthright
Text: Genesis 25:30-34

A birthright is like a glory that comes with a child when they are born. This right gives them assurance on certain things in the family without the need to work for it. This birthright can be determined by the position of the child in the family or the promise of God on the child.

Esau being the firstborn child had his birthright but he didn't know the value of what he had. He traded it with a pot of red pottage because he thought, what is the essence of birthright if I die of hunger? Will the birthright feed me? Will the birthright bring me back to life if I die?

There are so many people today who have also sold their birthright, glory for bread and pottage of lentiles. They also asked themselves poisonous questions like, if I die what's the essence of my glory? Will my glory be useful to me in my grave?

They don't want to wait for their own time anymore, they want to get rich as quickly as possible so that they can enjoy the world, they want to feed their stomach and in doing so, Satan is feeding on their souls. They think that they are living a luxurious life, buying worldly materials and not knowing that they are empty inside, living without Glory, a walking dead.

What poisonous thought have you been feeding your mind?
Do you think that trading your glory for what will take your life in the name of wealth is worth it?
Do you think that trading your soul to enjoy this world for a minimum time is the best for you?

Esau regretted trading his birthright when he finished eating, don't wait till you regret trading your soul for this world.

[64] Rebekah also looked up and saw Isaac. She got down from her camel
[65] and asked the servant, “Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?” “He is my master,” the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself.

The world as we know it today has become a place to worry about, so many wrong things are now seen as rights and the right things are no longer cherished and valued. One of the right things that is no longer valued and cherished is DECENCY.

Decency is a lifestyle that makes one look respectful, gives value, and determines how one is approached. The way a woman dresses determines the kind of attraction she gets. An uncovered food will attract insects, and it can be contaminated, but a covered one is wanted for good health.

It is disappointing to see that indecency has taken over the majority of women today. They tend to give several excuses as reasons for them to be practicing immorality. They believe that without showing the world their nak*dness they will not be valued, wanted or celebrated.

Rebekah covered herself on seeing Isaac. This shows the height of respect she had for her husband, a priceless attitude that could not be bought.

If the world is going the wrong way, do not follow it.
Do not be deceived by the world because of what it is offering you in return.
Indecency will attract harm and danger.
Cherish and love a decent lifestyle.

Topic: The significance of light
Text: John 1:4-12

Light brings about vision. Where there is light there will be transparency and everything that is there will be seen. Light helps to see clearly.

Who is the light? Jesus Christ the only son of God is the light

Vs 6 of our bible reading says God sent John to bear witness of the light so that people might believe through him of who is coming and vs 9 says that was the true light which gives light to every man coming into the world..i.e Jesus as the light gives light to those who come to him and believe in him.
vs 12 says For as many that receive him are given the right to become children of God, only those that believe him.

We can see in our passage of today's bible reading that Jesus is the light of the world. We know that he who doesn't have light is working in darkness and darkness is the opposite of light.
According to Apostle Joshua Selman: Those that stumble, stumble at night i.e. in the darkness.

Our reading today is telling us that we should receive light into our lives to lighten our path and give us hope in God that we've once lost in the garden of Eden. Receive Christ and receive true light, work with Christ and walk in the light, He who walks in the light(Christ) can never be misled and he who doesn't will go otherwise.
Even in the creation of the world God firstly called light out of darkness(Gen1:3)

Now what are the significances of light:
1. It lightens one's path (psalm 119:105)
2. Everlasting joy and peace of mind
3. Light makes way in the wilderness
4. Light brings salvation, healings, unexpected miracles(ISA53:5) e.t.c
4. Light restores every lost hope .. including the hope of eternity.

We lost our first peace with God in the garden of Eden but through the light (Christ) God restores the peace for those that believe in Him.
Note: Life without Christ is in darkness irrespective of status, achievement, position, wealth, power or any other worldly achievement.
Every achievement out of Christ is vanity and can not last. Know that he who follows SHORTCUT shall be CUT SHORT.

Education+money-Christ = Hell
But Education+ monke+Christ = Eternal life
Choose light today and choose eternal life.
Know that our God isn't unjust to forget your labour of love and our work in Him is not in vain
Christ is coming very soon and when he comes or you die, will he find in you the true light which will transfigure you?
