A Wake-Up Call: Unpacking the Mystery of "A Little Sleep"

As I watched a video on YouTube today, a scripture that had puzzled me for a while suddenly came alive: "A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands, and poverty will come on you like a thief." (Proverbs 24:33-34)

At first, I thought it was just about physical sleep. But now I realize that there are many ways we can be "sleeping" without even knowing it.

When we refuse to be consistent in our efforts, especially in our businesses and personal growth, we're essentially sleeping. We're snoozing on opportunities that could bring us visibility, growth, and success.

When we neglect to follow up with customers, contacts, or mentors, we're sleeping on potential relationships that could propel us forward.

And when we procrastinate, putting off tasks that need to be done now, we're sleeping on our goals and aspirations. We're allowing opportunities to slip away, and before we know it, someone else has seized them.

So, let's make a conscious decision to cut off any form of sleep that's hindering our progress. Let's:

- Eliminate distractions

- Stay focused

- Be consistent in our efforts

- Be awake to the opportunities that surround us

- Take timely action to seize them

Remember, poverty – whether financial, emotional, or spiritual – can creep in when we're not vigilant. So, let's stay alert, stay awake, and make this year count!
