Soludo’s Magic Touch Takes Shape in Anambra North Local Governments, Communities, Others
Fulfilling his campaign promise to transform Anambra from the grassroots, Governor Prof Charles Soludo, CFR, has launched an unprecedented wave of infrastructure development across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, redefining governance with a bold, people-first agenda that places rural and urban renewal at the heart of his administration.
Remarkably, within 24 hours of assuming office, Governor Soludo began delivering on that promise by visiting one of the largest urban slums in the country, Okpoko in Ogbaru Local Government Area, where he launched the comprehensive ‘Operation Clean Up Okpoko’. This bold and unexpected move has since reshaped the narrative for residents of the area.
Following the clean-up, the Governor committed to a holistic transformation of Okpoko by initiating the construction of internal roads, provision of pipe-borne water, installation of streetlights, and the establishment of the first-ever general hospital in the area. He further declared free access to medical care, including antenatal services and cesarean sections for pregnant women, as well as free education for pupils and students from primary to senior secondary levels in public schools across the area and the state at large.
In Onitsha, Governor Soludo launched an aggressive intervention in internal road rehabilitation and initiated the much-anticipated "Onitsha 2.0" project, an ambitious plan to build an entirely new city that is already taking shape.
In Anambra West, one of the few Local Government Areas in Nigeria historically cut off from the state capital and neighboring towns due to poor access roads, Governor Soludo’s administration has delivered remarkable transformation. Today, motorists can seamlessly travel from Awka, the state capital, through Nzam to other communities within and beyond the area.
The Governor has also extended his infrastructure revolution to other local government areas, including Enugwu-Otu, where his administration constructed a state-of-the-art general hospital to tackle longstanding health challenges. This was followed by the provision of pipe-borne water and the construction of access roads linking Aguleri-Otu to major parts of Anambra East and beyond.
In communities once plagued by isolation and neglect, new bridges, culverts, and roads are springing up. In places like Ihiala, Aguata, Orumba, Ayamelum, and Nnewi South, construction is ongoing at a historic pace, with over 400 kilometers of roads either completed or underway.
Governor Soludo’s grassroots development agenda is further complemented by interventions in education, health, and youth empowerment. His administration has recruited thousands of teachers and healthcare workers to bridge decades-long gaps in public service delivery, especially in underserved areas.
Thus, as the projects continue to expand into more local government areas, including Anambra North, the impact of Soludo’s vision is becoming evident, transforming the most forgotten communities into thriving centers of opportunity and hope. Soludo Solution is not just a promise, it is a living, breathing reality for Ndi Anambra.
Little wonder, at a much-anticipated time for the people to appreciate the Governor’s good work, all traditional rulers of Anambra North, alongside the entire good people of Anambra State, will converge on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Otuocha Township Stadium to thank Prof. Soludo for his remarkable contributions to the state. It is an opportune moment for the people of Anambra to gather en masse and reaffirm their unwavering support for the continuity of Governor Charles Soludo’s administration and its steadfast commitment to building a habitable and prosperous homeland for all.
