Anambra North Rallies Behind Soludo in Grand Reelection Show at Otuocha Stadium
Anambra North Senatorial Zone witnessed an extraordinary display of political solidarity on Saturday, June 21, 2025, as thousands gathered at the Otuocha Township Stadium, Aguleri, for a grand rally in honour of Governor Charles Soludo, CFR.
Organized ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election, the rally showcased the people's overwhelming support for Soludo’s reelection bid and reinforced confidence in his visionary leadership and development-driven governance.
Spearheaded by the Anambra North Stakeholders Forum, a coalition of current and former elected officials, political appointees, and prominent stakeholders, the event drew supporters from all walks of life, united in their endorsement of the governor's administration.
The rally, themed “Sustaining the Solution Legacy: A Path to Disruptive Development in Anambra State,” celebrated Governor Soludo’s achievements and reaffirmed commitment to his vision of a livable and prosperous Anambra.
In his remarks, Governor Soludo expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of Anambra North for their steadfast support.
“Today is a powerful demonstration of our collective resolve to move our state forward,” he said. “I’m deeply moved that the North Senatorial Zone has taken the lead—even before we’ve set up a campaign council—because our focus remains on governance.”
He added, “When the time comes, we’ll campaign with the energy of underdogs, because we will never take the support of Ndị Anambra for granted.”
Reflecting on his ties to the zone, Governor Soludo recalled: “On October 17, 2020, the Traditional Rulers of Anambra North endorsed me. Upon assuming office, our development drive began right here. I’m grateful, Ndị Igwe.”
He also emphasized the importance of zoning in promoting equity, stating, “We’ve institutionalized zoning to ensure every zone gets its turn. Anambra is one state, one people, one party. Anambra is APGA land.”
Delivering a communiqué on behalf of the zone, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, passed a vote of confidence in the Governor, citing numerous landmark projects in Anambra North.
APGA National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, and State Chairman, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, also reaffirmed their support for Soludo’s second term bid.
In their separate speeches, community leaders, youth representatives, and women’s groups took turns addressing the crowd, reaffirming their resolute commitment to Soludo’s reelection. Their voices echoed a unified call across Anambra North to sustain the progress of the Solution administration and ensure inclusive development beyond 2025.
Dignitaries present included Commissioner for Special Duties, Barr. Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche; Member representing Oyi and Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Lady Maureen Gwacham; Mr. Primus Odili; and Engr. Marcel Ifejiofor, among others.
A major highlight of the day was the conferment of the traditional title “Oluatuegwu” (One Who Is Not Afraid of Work) on Governor Soludo by the Traditional Rulers of Anambra North Senatorial District.
