I was broke, I won’t say poor. But…
I had something valuable.
Being in a society where the fatter your purse, the more privilege and connection you enjoy. I often see myself less, because I don’t have much.
But I was wrong And please: what you are reading is not to motivate you about money but open your eyes to lie most have been fed.
The truth is the more money you have the more confident and connection you get but here’s the dicey part.
What if when life hits, can you still keep those connection? Can you still be happy in those periods?
You see, many have tied their self worth and happiness to how much money they got, and the results birthed a society of unhappy people.
As I grow older, I know better_ the connection I have with my wealthy friends isn’t because I have the level of money they had but because of virtue.
That trustworthiness, reliability, smartness, transparency, loyalty, potential etc
Money can’t buy these, you know. But these keep your connection alive and that’s where you should tie your self worth and happiness must be tied too.
Because at the end…
If only more money and more money keeps you happy and forms your identity, I assure you… Don’t be surprised when Mrs Miserable warms your bed.
In all, don’t settle for less, aim higher, make more money but never tie your self-worth to your bank balance.
You’ll lose your peace.
