HERPES: What You Should Know

Herpes is a common viral infection that can affect the mouth or ge***al area. Some people may have no obvious symptoms, while others may notice painful blisters, sores, itching or burning.

Herpes can spread through skin-to-skin contact, even when there are no visible sores.

The good news: herpes can be managed. Antiviral medicines can help reduce symptoms and outbreaks.

If you notice unusual sores or blisters, speak with a healthcare professional rather than self-treating.

HEART FAILURE: KEY SIGNS TO MONITOR

Heart failure does not mean the heart has stopped. It means the heart is not pumping blood as effectively as it should. Recognizing changes early can help prevent complications.

KEY SIGNS TO MONITOR

• Shortness of breath, especially during activity or when lying down
• Swelling of the feet, ankles or legs
• Sudden or rapid weight gain from fluid retention
• Persistent cough or difficulty breathing at night
• Unusual tiredness or weakness
• Fast or irregular heartbeat
• Reduced ability to perform usual activities
Seek urgent medical attention for severe difficulty breathing, chest pain, fainting, confusion, or sudden worsening of symptoms.

Remember: New or worsening symptoms should never be ignored. Early assessment and appropriate treatment can make a significant difference.

Appendicitis: Know the Warning Signs

Appendicitis happens when the appendix becomes inflamed.
The pain may start around the belly button and later move to the lower right side of the abdomen.

Other signs can include loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, fever, and pain that gets worse with movement.

If abdominal pain is becoming severe or keeps getting worse, don't ignore it.
Appendicitis can become serious and needs prompt medical assessment.
