HOW MANY ENTRANCES DOES YOUR POULTRY PEN REALLY NEED? 🤔
🚪More doors maylook convenient, but have you ever thought about what each extra entrance means for biosecurity?
Every entrance is another point to control.
👀Another door to monitor
🦶🏾Another foot dip to maintain
⚠️Another place a worker or visitor can enter without proper checks.
Now imagine a worker coming from another poultry house with mud on their boots, equipment in hand, or contaminated clothes and walking straight into another pen.
That's how a simple movement can become A BIOSECURITY PROBLEM.
📌This is why controlled access matters.
Where practical, keep unnecessary entrances closed and have a clearly controlled access point for people entering the poultry area. (Read that again)
It's not really about having fewer doors.
It's about having fewer uncontrolled ways for contamination to get in.
