The next morningâŚ
she didnât text him.
For the first time in a long time,
her phone stayed quietâŚ
and so did her heart.
She picked up her phoneâŚ

stared at it for a whileâŚ
then deleted it.
âLet me see if he notices todayâŚâ she whispered.
Minutes passed.
Then hours.
Nothing.
She tried to distract herselfâ
watched movies, scrolled through her phone,
even laughed at some random videosâŚ
But deep down,
she was waiting for just one notification.
Just one.
Later that afternoon,
her friend called her.
âAre you still thinking about that boy?â
her friend teased.
She laughed softly,
âPlease⌠Iâm not that crazy.â
But immediately after the call,
she checked her phone again.
Still nothing.
âOkay⌠maybe Iâm a little crazy,â she admitted, smiling through the pain.

It felt strange.

to feel complete anymore.
