Some Tips For Running a Successful Chicken Farm

Although broiler management may be challenging at times, it can be eased by following the following guidelines:

1. Temperature

Broilers need to have a steady temperature maintained. Temperatures of 95 degrees Fahrenheit on average are OK for the first week. The temperature should be lowered by 5 °F every week until it reached 70 °F at the end of the sixth week.

2. Lighting

For successful broiler farming, lighting is a must. A 60-watt bulb is enough for a 200-square-foot room.

3. Floor

To ensure the well-being of poultry, 1 square foot of floor area per bird is Ok.

4. Ventilation

Ventilation is necessary to preserve the excellent health of poultry birds. Suffocation can be prevented with sufficient ventilation and the elimination of bird waste.

5. Healthcare

To prevent illness, broilers need proper medical attention. Regular checkups and vaccinations must not be overlooked.

6. Technology

Technology has made life much simpler. The good news is that there are several openings in the poultry sector to make use of modern tools and reduce the need for human labour.

7. Providing a Healthy Diet of Good Quality

The birds' health depends on the food and water they feed on, so it's important to provide them with the best you can. Feeding poultry properly and on time is very essential.
