✨ Skincare FAQ: Why Exfoliating Your Skin Matters.
( PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ THIS VERY WELL)
🧽 Exfoliation might sound fancy, but it’s simply the process of removing old, dead skin cells from the surface of your skin.
And trust me — your skin will thank you for it.
🧠 Why should you exfoliate?
Over time, your skin naturally sheds dead cells. But sometimes, those cells don’t fully fall off — and that causes:
Dull-looking skin
Clogged pores
Rough texture
Breakouts and blackheads
Uneven skin tone
When you exfoliate properly, you remove that “layer of tired skin” and reveal the fresh, glowing skin underneath.
✅ How often should you exfoliate?
1–2 times a week is just enough for most people.
Doing it too often can damage your skin barrier — especially if you have sensitive skin.
If your skin is oily or thick, you may tolerate more. If it’s dry or sensitive,
🧼 Types of exfoliation: What’s the difference?
There are two main types:
1. Physical Exfoliation
Things like scrubs, brushes, sponges — anything that uses friction to remove dead skin.
➡️ Example: a gentle sugar or oatmeal scrub.
2. Chemical Exfoliation
These use mild acids (like AHAs and BHAs) to dissolve dead skin cells.
➡️ Example: glycolic acid, lactic acid, or salicylic acid — great for acne-prone skin
💡 Signs you need to exfoliate:
Your face feels rough, even after moisturizing
You notice more clogged pores or breakouts
Your skin looks dull or flaky
Makeup doesn’t sit smoothly on your face
⚠️ Don’t overdo it!
Exfoliation is a powerful tool, but too much of it can damage your skin barrier and cause redness, irritation, or breakouts.
Stick to gentle, consistent care — and always listen to your skin.
